Today was my first time trying Bingâs Diner in Burnham, PA and it left a great first impression! This place is just plain AWESOME! I especially love the 1950âs teal and red aesthetic of the building! I do find it ironic however that there is Coca-Cola memorabilia on some of the walls yet this establishment serves Pepsi products. Other than that, itâs well lit, decorative, not too overwhelming, and very welcoming!
As for the food, I had the signature âBingâ burger with their âFresh Cutâ fries. This was easily one of the BEST burgers Iâve had in a long time! It had a fast-food aesthetic, but with the freshness and flavor that a great, locally made hamburger should have! The beef patty was grilled to perfection, juicy, and seasoned adequately, while the toppings (ESPECIALLY the Bacon and lettuce) were quite delectable! Their version of âFresh Cutâ fries certainly live up to the title! Once again, they had the thickness of a fast-food fry combined with that nice golden yellow color and freshness one would get from a local restaurant! They were also adequately seasoned! I didnât even need ketchup but I dipped them in it anyway. They were that good! To top it all off, I decided to get a Hersheyâs Ice Cream cone before I left. That was also great, especially since itâs hand-dipped rather than served with a dysfunctional âSoft Serveâ machine like most places! Just a fantastic meal all around!
Overall, for my first time at Bingâs, I quite enjoyed it! It was busy, but not overwhelming and my burger was fantastic! Iâm pleased to say I will DEFINITELY return to Bingâs Diner and I highly...
Read moreTo begin, the place is a time warp that sent me straight back to the fifties. The ads all over the place contribute greatly - most of the products are no longer available.
The waitresses wearing poodle skirts was a nearly final touch. Missing were the crenolines, which would have a huge negative impact; the girls wouldn't be able to pass one another most of the time.
Also consider that the breakfast menu is much bigger than it appears. I ordered eggs, potatoes, toast, and coffee. Simple enough, but... Eggs? boiled hard or soft; fried sunnyside, over easy, over hard, yolks broken? (that's eight options - so far). Potatoes? Home fries or hash-browns, onions mixed in, deep fried or grilled (we have eight potato options, (making sixty-four choices so far). Sausage? Sweet or hot, patties or links (four more options two hundred fifty-six possible outcomes). Toast? White, whole wheat, rye; toasted or butter-fried (six more choices or three hundred thirty six possible breakfasts from my order, and I was asked about each choice). Fifteen hundred thirty six possible breakfasts from my order. And every meal on their menu has similar choices, which you will get asked to opt on. Gotta luv it.
I give the place four and a half stars. It did take the food a wee too long to arrive, but there were eight...
Read moreWas excited to try and new place so we went to Bings. The atmosphere seemed nice when we walked in the door. Clean, cute and the menu had nice options. Placed my order and it all went down hill after that. Food would have been good if it was what I ordered and when I said that this is not what I wanted I was corrected by a waitress (that obviously doesn't like to be wrong and it was the end of her shift), who was ready to head out the door. Undenounced to us, she left and never asked once if we wanted refills, dessert and didn't even give us our slip before leaving. So after waiting and waiting we finally asked another waitress if we could have out bill to leave. Explained what had happened and was told "We are talking to the wrong person and we are not her table", so I asked for the manager and she said they left also. So my question was - Who should I talk to since my waitress and the manager left?!?! Needless to say the "Customer is always right" doesn't apply here even when it's not the customers fault. There was more to the story but its to long to write...
