While I am not exactly new to the Butler area (lived here since last June) tonight was my first time trying Tanis and I was blown away! Absolutely delicious and very kind courteous staff. Everyone I encountered was very friendly. Anyways onto the food. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and order of 6 garlic knots and 10 mild wings. Very reasonably priced and definitely a lot of food for the money. My plan was to feed 4 fully grown adults and we all ate until we were stuffed and there is still some of everything leftover. The pizza was thin crust but still very filling without feeling heavy, if that makes sense. Good cheese blend, savory pepperoni, but what really steals the show is the sauce. Very bright and tomato forward tastes very fresh with just the right amount of herbs and spices. It is perfect for this style of pie. The garlic knots were another home run and something that really stood out to me was the addition of a cup of that delicious sauce to pair with them. A lot of the chain pizza joints don't include I, at least not without asking and an additional upcharge. What else can I say about the garlic knots?! Dough, either butter or olive oil, garlic and pecorino Romano cheese, how could you go wrong? The wings were great too. They are a breaded, deep fried chicken wing nicely coated in a buttery vinegar based cayenne pepper sauce that delivered just the right amount of kick and s slight heat. I believe they had a little bit of Parmesan/pecorino Romano cheese sprinkled on top too. Very mouth wateringly good. I am so glad I finally tried Tanis. I walk past it on the way to my friend's house pretty regularly and it always smells great, and looking in I liked the aesthetic/vibe, it seemed like my kind of pizza place and it definitely not only lived up to my expectations but totally exceeded then. I had heard nothing but good things about Tanis and I can honestly say it's by far the best pizza I have had since moving to Butler and is undoubtedly amongst the best pizzas I have ever had anywhere. I knew this place was going to be special. Really I can't say enough good things about Tanis. This my new go-to for pizza, and I. can't wait to try other menu items. I'm going to recommend this to everyone I know!!! Thank you for a great...
ย ย ย Read moreWithout a doubt one of the best pizza's I've had in years for sure! Not from Butler so I ended up trying to walk in through the employee entrance/exit not knowing it untill they politely told me and explained where the customer entrance is located. After I finally found my way in, I believe it was the owner that I spoke with and who also rang my order up. He was unbelievably nice and joked about me coming thro the wrong way saying that if I came thro the employee exit ill b washing dishes but if I came through the customer entrance I'll b making the business money as well as normal conversation asking about where I'm from and what brought me to the Butler area. It's really nice when we're able to connect with people the way we used to instead of typing our words on our phone and using screens instead of eye contact! I highly recommend Tani's Pizza to anyone who loves pizza and is close to the Butler area..you will not be disappointed. I will be working in the area again tomorrow and I will be getting another pizza from Tani's but this time I will use the right entrance lol! To the man(I believe was the owner) I spoke to,joked and laughed with I thank you for just being a very nice person and to the boy I scared while following him into the wrong door I apologise again and thank u for being co about it and explaining the correct door to me. I asked people around the town what pizza they would recommend and now I see why they sent me there..because I'll continue to do the same now as well! Thanks again all of u and I'll see y'all again tomorrow for my...

I'm an apologist for chain restaurants, like Pizza Hut, Little Caesar's, and Domino's. It's at such pizza places one will receive the best value.
I ordered a 16 slice Sicilian pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The cost was over $24. The cheese and toppings were scanty and the dough was way too heavy and with little flavor. I'm not sure why I paid so much for what is essentially 85% bread (estimation) but I'll never do it again.
Maybe the thin crust is better? Who knows. Regardless, I'll put my money on a chain.
Before you order a Sicilian pizza from Tani's, ask yourself one question: Why am I paying so much for chewy bread?

My response to your response: Receiving an award for best pizza and Italian restaurant in Butler is like a person getting an award for best chef when pitted against people who don't know black pepper from oregano. Who is the competition?
I think the truest test of quality would be to do a blind taste test, like outside of a supermarket. I could buy a few of your pizzas and a few from another establishment and have people try both and offer...
