Good Eatin — Restaurant in Byram

I visited Good Eats for the first time yesterday. The food was so good. That burger was the best part and the fries were pretty good. Everything was freshly cooked and piping hot when I got it. It seemed to be prepared with care and love. Definitely better than the fast food spots. I gave the service a 4 because I wasn’t greeted with a smile. The service was not bad, it just wasn’t great. The lady at the front took my order with a blank expression on her face. She just seemed tired.. not nice at all but not mean either.. I could tell they were swamped as they had 30 and then 40 minute waits on new orders, they also ran out of the seafood potato entree. That was what I wanted but ended up getting a burger instead. When I walked in and ordered I initially planned on eating there with my family but although the place was clean it just wasn’t inviting. The decor was drab and the employees seemed tired. So we didn’t stay, we ate the food at home. The last thing I want to mention is that they gave us 2 napkins (3 person order) and said they ran out of ketchup. I wasn’t happy with that. The lemonades are a no go. Please get some coke or Pepsi products. Even though I do have concerns overall it’s a new spot and perhaps new business owners…the food was good, the service wasn’t technically bad, and the place was clean which is the most important part. I would recommend them and I would give them another...

Mike has been eyeing this place for a while. We finally made it by to try their burgers and wings. He got the bacon cheeseburger, but since I like a thinner patty, I got the jr cheeseburger. Soft bun, perfectly seasoned, hand patted meat with crispy lettuce, fresh red onion and a bright red slice of juicy tomato. Yes, yes and yes.

Then the wings touched my lips and I knew what I would be returning for. High quality chicken, fried to perfection and just the right amount of a sweet and slightly spicy, sticky sauce. Uptown sauce is incredible. Mike had the spicy bbq sauce. It was good but that Uptown sauce is it! He had ranch. We are ranch snobs. It’s ok. The chunky bleu cheese is great!!

The fries are crispy and seasoned lightly with either an AP or seasoned salt.

The menu has scrolling pics of their menu items. I may have to try that shrimp stuffed potato next time!

Super clean and the sweetest young ladies on the front counter.

Hit them up with a yelp review too. We need to keep this place open!

Edit: we still give this place 5 stars. Went again 8/9. Mike had a Philly cheese and I had wings with uptown sauce. Tips: ask for fried hard wings. BRING YOUR OWN NAPKINS. they have bev naps. Itty bitty, thin bev naps for a wing place 🤣 still great service and...

So I have been to this place several times and the food is always 10 out of 10 would recommend. Of course, when food is cooked to order there may be times where it's not consistent. That being said, I ordered the mix and match burger and wings.

The burger was DRY and tasteless...this is NOT "The Best Burger in Mississippi". I paid for bacon to be added, I didn't get it.

The Lemon pepper wings were severely over cooked.

The fries were cold.

I'm going to chalk this up to ordering when it was close to closing time (8:00).

My wife had the Cajun Seafood Potatoe, and she is raving about it.

So to those reading this review...give them a try because this was not normal for me. Try to go earlier in the day before the cook may be tired and ready to go.

Next time I go, and the food is back up to my standard, I will Update...
