Enjoyable. My first time to dine here. Got there about 9 o'clock. I kinda spooked when I saw an almost empty parking lot. Website said that closing not until 10:30. As I entered Was greeted and seated by Karen. I was the only one seated in this dining area, really spooked then. Karen made suggestions, but I chose the ribeye from menu list. I chose "Come Back" dressing for my salad. I always choose Come Back when offered. Until this, Come back has always tasted very similar. Monte's was similar in texture yet flavor totally different. Probably the best I had ever tasted. My meal was served quickly. Karen had checked my needs regularly as wait staff should. The steak was cooked perfectly to my wishes. It had less than a bite or 2 of fat. The baked potato was one of those that you get, and then ask urself, "how does one bake a potato that Is soft and almost creamy". And it was hot. Oh, the meal was served on one of those cast iron plates and it was hot. The mixed vegies were in a smooth cream like sauce. The flavor and texture of the broccoli, green beans and carrot slivers were crisp and again, different. The steak was served, topped with another different flavored sauce than I had ever tasted. To end, I much enjoyed my meal and the attention shown me. The only change that I would suggest would be that the bread have been buttered with a tinge of garlic, for it was the only thing that was common to any other restaurant. As for price, it did cost me 40 plus tip, I did have a drink from the bar though. Not many weeks ago I had paid more for much less at an esteemed restaurant in the metro area. I will make it a point to dine here again, cause if I am impressed like this again, both meals will be the best steak dinners I have ever...
Read moreSaturday date night was at Monte's Steak and Seafood. This place was only 10 minutes on the 55 from Baptist! Much closer than I thought. The place was quiet, dimmed lights, the perfect setting for a romantic date night. We were quickly greeted and seated.
They started us off with some bread, but from the pictures I've seen online, I can tell, the food is saucey, so I saved the bread for a different purpose 😊 I got the side salad with raspberry vinaigrette, oh was it great. Just the right balance of sweet and tart, and those bits of deep fried croutons were a treat!
He ordered the voodoo steak topped with fried shrimp, and oysters, cooked medium rare. We usually don't prefer an overly sauced steak, but it was great because we were able to use our bread to soak it all up. The steak, that steak was cooked perfectly, extremely tender! I wished I got my own piece! The fried seafood on top was delicious, the batter were very well seasoned, now we really want to try his fried seafood platter.
My redfish was blackened then topped with a cajun cream sauce, again, it was great with the bread. I was afraid the pasta and the sauce on the fish might conflict in flavors, but not at all, the pasta went very well with it. Overall we enjoyed our dinner, we will definitely be back to try some of his fried dishes. I heard they have Sunday buffet, so I'll be back for that too! I included a...
Read moreabsolutely the best restaurant I've ever been too. Despite everything that's happening with covid my husband and I wanted to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and were looking for something to eat. since we moved here from florida we haven't had much chance to try the local food but I am so glad we did tonight. the food was beyond good. our service was impeccable. the staff were taking precautions ( masks, fresh table coverings, not seated close to other people) our server Karen was so so nice too. we ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer, we got fresh warm bread, salads ( mine had homemade ranch which was the best ranch I've ever had ) I ordered the shrimp fettuccine with parmesan sauce and a side of home made sweet potato fries. my husband got the New York strip with breaded shrimp and mushrooms added and veggies in sauce with side of homemade fries. not only was his steak cooked perfect but I dont think I've ever seen my husband eat a steak so fast before. we also got the bread pudding which we brought home and tried. soooo good.and not only did the food taste good but was presented beautifully. our server karen was very attentive and kind and the owner mr Monte came out and thanked us for dining with them and was so nice. I highly reccomend this restaurant. we will absolutely be returning I the future. pretty sure this will be our new date...
