Boardwalk Subs — Restaurant in Byron Township

I used to live in Byron center about 5 years ago. This was my fave sub place, since I worked down the road and I would go here quite often. I now moved back to my hometown in Holland and they do not have one in the area. So I only get it once in a while here and there if I am out that way. I got one today because I have been craving it. Customer service was great! But I get home I eat one part of my sandwich, like dang I missed this was so good. Then the next piece there was a black hair curly-que on my piece of ham. Thank god I noticed it before I started eating it. Not to mention this made me lose all appetite of my sub when I was only on my second piece and I had a full sub not a half. And now I’m having to like look through the rest of my sub to see if there’s any more and it’s very disturbing and disgusting honestly made me wanna just almost throw the whole sub away I threw half of it away. After I spent $15 and I rarely ever get to get to boardwalk subs. Such a great experience when it’s been probably three years since I’ve had one. It sucks when you’re looking forward to something it’s comfort food honestly and that happens. I feel like some thing needs to be done. Clearly, this is not the first time with this location by reading the comments and reviews. I shouldn’t be on edge...

Very poor I will not return ......met a friend for lunch he got his food after we stood in line for 25 minutes the lady working proceeded to start making the order for the guys behind me they had a list of subs ..... I'm still waiting just for my toppings..... 20 minutes later she does my toppings with theirs ... My sub is cold now on a tray and continues with the guys behind me and their order... I ask to pay can I just pay....... In a very nice way but she says l'm almost done then my friend comes up to counter says what's up I'm done eating we got to go we're going to be late yes 45 to 50 minutes only 4 poeple in front of us and all subs are $10 or over chicken was rubbery it sucked after all that.... Word of advice if you want to throw your money away and go there tell them no you will make only my order your serving me now and you'll have a good lunch or just be late for work eat cold rubbery food WORST SERVICE at any sub shop and all they have to do is put meat on a bun with...

The subs are good here, I love to get mine Rogue. It really bring the flavors together well. My biggest discrepancy is with the employees. They took forever to make 2 subs even though I was the only person in the shop. They kept very obnoxiously gossipping between each other. There was nothing subtle about it at all either. SEVERAL TIMES they stopped making the subs so the could whisper back and forth to each other, laughing about something. I can understand having fun at work, but they let it get in the way of doing their job, which was very frustrating to me. Subs that easily could have taken them 4 or 5 minutes to make ended up taking over 10 minutes because they seemed to think it was okay to stop every 10 seconds (not even exaggerating) to gossip and laugh about something. Was it me? I don't know, but I won't be making this a regular spot if this is the service I get every time. It's really disappointing considering the food...
