We went this past Sunday, taking our two of our grown children with us, for our first visit, since they opened this year . We had reservations, there was no wait, but others that did not have reservations, did not wait either. We were just concerned that with so many tourists, we might have to wait, thus we made them. Their reservation system, is very efficient. They serve buffet at lunchtime. There was a moderate number of items to choose from. I have eaten East Indian food all my life, my husband, only on occasion, until we married, and now he is very familiar with it. Our children are all grown, and all but one, is an enthusiast. She only ate rice from the buffet, which is very reasonably priced. She also nibbled on some of our food, to try it. My husband likes very, very mild Indian food, so he chose accordingly, and liked everything he ate. Our son, especially liked the Chicken 65, since it was a little spicier. Some of the other selections were a little to mild for him, namely the Butter Chicken, and the Curry Chicken, but he did like them. I agreed with him on them being to mild for me. But, for those unfamiliar with East Indian cuisine, and not wanting something too spicy, they might be just the ticket for them. I like mild spice, but spicier than those selections. So, for me, the Saag Paneer (spinach and cheese) was perfectly spiced, and delicious, I had two helpings. I used the Naan, which was plain Naan, as a compliment to shovel it into my mouth. I loved the Samosas (a potatoe pastry, of sorts), they were big, and perfectly spiced for me. I used the Raita (a Yogurt with tiny vegetables, type item) to dip my fresh vegetables in, it was yummy! I also got the Masala tea (a chai tea with cardamom, cinnamon, and other yummy spices, with milk, and sweet, just like I like it), it was excellent! They had a carrot pudding, that was sweet, and tasty called Gajar Ka Halwa, it was very tasty, not too strong of a carrot flavor. The restaurant is very, very clean. Our son commented on how clean it was compared to the previous occupant. They did play some East Indian music for part of our meal, which was lovely. The decor is very plain, but maybe in time, if they are well supported, they can add some intereting items. The Server we had, a young lady, was knowledgable, and very kind. She did an excellent, and efficient job of taking care of us. The rest of the staff was very welcoming, and pleasant. I would suggest anyone who likes things much spicier, to perhaps go at dinner time, when since they are preparing entrees individually, you can request the level of heat you want. We have not gone for supper, so I don't know. Once of our other sons likes it so hot, that when we go to Indian restaurants, they ask, "Are you sure you want it that hot?". Overall, we were pleased, and we hope they will stay in business, so we can enjoy them more, and watch them grow, and expand their menu, decor,...
Read moreNot much changed with interior from restaurant prior. Nothing bad about it. Bathroom was out of soap and paper towels. Sign said employees must wash hands...but yeah? Was about 40 bucks without tip for 2 orders of Naan, pita bread with the sauce, Excellent. Samosa appetizer, Three dumpling like things with 2 kinds of sauce. Excellent. Chicken Biryani, like a decent size bowl of rice with chicken in it. Excellent. Good amount of meat, dish looks small but was filling and ended up taking some home, on the spicy side. Butter chicken. Very good, like a chili kinda texture, pretty sure it was lamb not chicken. It was also excellent and I'd order the lamb for sure next time. As mentioned the service was off. Didn't really know about the dishes or how to pronounce them. We used google to find what we wanted or to explore what things were. The sodas, just nasty. Not sure if it's the water or the syrup, they just tasted off. Still a work in progress but it's definitely worth a visit. Just a heads up, if you've never had Indian food, it can be a shock to your stomach. And expect explosive rejection later. It's a spice filled food that if you're used to bland, average or run of the mill spice, it can be a lot for your stomach to take. But your taste buds will thank you. Currently I go with strong 3, 4 because I know it's only going to get better. 5 if they figure out the...
Read moreLOVED the food. Nothing was spicy though. I wish they had at least 1 dish on the buffet that was spicy. Taste almost exactly how I expected having real Indian food before, just less spicy.
Edit to add new visit experience: Visited today and was disappointed at first bc i didn't know that the buffet food changes depending on the day. I had only went bc last time on the buffet, they had my favorite Palek Paneer. I have been craving it and was so excited to go. Was disappointed when the waitress told me if I wanted it, I'd had to order separately which did NOT make me happy as I was already spending almost $15 for the buffet. Someone else over heard me and went and talked to the cooks and they were brought me a bowl of just that. AMAZING. I had brought my mom here today for the 1st time. She is not a spice person, but she loved the buffet as the spice is toned down for it. She LOVED the Palek Paneer they brought us and even wants to come back!!! Our waitress was great. The other waitress was annoyed when my mom gave our actual waitress a cash tip, rather then her I guess. I dunno. Just the way she acted when my mom handed it to our actual waitress. Will definitely be back again. Thank you for a great...
