Best burgers in Brunswick County—and a true home away from home!
Bennetts Grill and Cafe is hands down my favorite spot for juicy, delicious burgers, fresh seafood specials, and crispy fries. The relaxed outdoor seating and beautifully decorated space make it the perfect place to unwind.
What really makes this place special is the amazing staff, especially Linda. She works so hard that she truly stands out from the rest. Linda has a heart bigger than Texas and genuinely cares about making every person feel loved and seen. She runs food to tables and cleans up with such dedication, always making sure our family's experience is top-notch. She’s one of a kind, always smiling, and we always enjoy chatting with her.
The music is always relaxing, the atmosphere welcoming, and the whole place feels like a warm, inviting home away from home.

Read moreBeen wanting to try this place for a while. I've now been there twice with the first time being awesome. Today I ordered takeout, a $12 (flat) combo but my total came out to $16 somehow? I brought it up but was just told "That's how much tax is". I paid in cash but I was not given a receipt. However, I take responsibility for not asking. I feel like their menu prices are out of date, maybe the cashier I had was just wrong, or there must be a surcharge/tip I wasn't aware of? I'm not confrontational so I didn't push it but the service was sus. Wasn't given my drink either so I had to ask but that's no biggie. The food is good but I think I'll stick to my favorite spot around the corner moving forward.
Edit* just started eating the rest of my food as there are large portions (which is great)! Hair in coleslaw so I have to lower my score further. I'm sure the owners are great people but I have...
Read moreThis little hole-in-the-wall burger joint offers so much more than hamburgers. The menu includes seafood, traditional down-east sides and fresh Carolina barbecue. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed as it should be in a sleepy little beach town near the border of North and South Carolina.
My friend and I opted for the Calabash Crabcake Burger. It was an absolutly wonderful sandwich with shrimp, tartar sauce, cole slaw and a flavorful crabcake. We paired ours with fried okra and hand-dipped onion rings which made for a perfect meal. We took advantage of our beautiful spring day and dined at the outdoor tables where a pig cooker was fired up, smoking fresh pork for pulled barbecue.
If you're traveling down the Ocean Highway of Hwy 17, take a detour through Calabash and stop in at Bennett's Grill and Café. You...
