Spring Garden — Restaurant in Caldwell

Ordered Singapore Mei Fun and wrote VEGETARIAN in the instructions and received meat in my noodles. Asked the lady to replace them and she told me I made a mistake because I didn’t write “no meat”. I told her by definition, Vegetarian means no meat and her colleague also confirmed that she didn’t understand what Vegetarian meant. They told me they would send a new order and I waited patiently for 45 mins before calling to see where my order was and she said sorry the driver is busy. She didn’t seem to care that they didn’t get the order right or that I was starving and waiting for a long time since getting the original order (2 hrs earlier!). At the end of it she told me to cancel the order because the driver said “he can’t make it because he’s too busy”. This is the worst customer service I’ve had in a looong time. Fortunately, there are many Asian restaurants to choose from in my area. Won’t be going back again, especially after they refused to acknowledge any fault or...

I ordered general Tso chicken lunch combo with a side of pork dumplings. The dumplings are TO DIE FOR. They fried them so perfectly. The dough was well proportioned with the filling and crisp if you eat them fresh. The pork fried rice was ok. Could use a little more seasoning but it wasn’t bad with some soy sauce. It balanced out the chicken and dumplings. The chicken had that standard thick sauce used in other Chinese chicken dishes. General Tso is made with chili flakes and is supposed to be spicy with a hint of sweet crispy chicken. But that sauce drowned out the other flavors of the chili that gives this dish its identity.

The dumplings are definitely my favorite thing here. I would come again.

The food took about 15-20 min to make which is quiet a while. But they did make everything fresh and hot. Which tasted a lot better that way.

This restaurant despite having good food has horrible customer service. They do not know how to follow order instructions and I honestly don't think they care one way or the other. The delivery service is terrible. The delivery people or person is slow and they don't ring the door bell when they arrive. They just leave your food outside to get cold or maybe even taken. I will never order from them ever again nor will I recommend any of my friends, family, or co workers to frequent their establishment. They clearly do not care about their customers. The food is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination. This is North Jersey where restaurants especially chinese take out is dime a dozen. It would be in this restaurants best interest to make their customers happy or they will find themselves without customers who will be happily eating somewhere else where they feel...
