The following review is proof that one visit can ruin it all, and leave a bad taste in your mouth...one that doesn't make you want to return to Beach Hut. Every time I go to Beach Hut, I order a Malibu, and I pay an extra $2 or so to add bacon to it. It seems like it always takes forever to get my food, and I definitely feel like they are understaffed. Every time that I have visited this Beach Hut or other locations, my sandwich has at least two or three strips of bacon on it, and you know that it's there because it's usually between the top slice of bread, and all of the avocados. This time around, however, there was no bacon on it. I didn't see any at first glance, so then I figured that I should take my Malibu apart, just in case it was hidden amongst all of the pastrami and avocados; it wasn't. I walked up to the end of the counter to tell the chicks (there were only 3 chicks working there), and it took them at least a minute to acknowledge me and ask what I needed...I say acknowledge me, because it's not like they didn't know that I was there, since mutual eye contact was made with each of them at least once. I proceeded to tell her that there was supposed to be bacon on my Malibu, to which she replied that there was, and then she continued doing whatever she was doing, WHICH WAS KEEPING/HOGGING ALL OF THE BACON TO HERSELF. There are always at least two bins FULL OF BACON, so I know that there isn't a shortage of bacon going on. Unbelievably poor customer service. Don't you think that maybe it would've been a good idea to come up to me and check the sandwich yourself, instead of basically calling me a liar and going back to what you were doing?? I just moved to Sacramento a little over two months ago, and I have been a weekly visitor to Beach Hut pretty much since my first week here. I'm not going back to this location again, and I won't be going back to any Beach Huts, unless...
Read moreOverpriced for small portions.
$20 bucks got me an ~7in sandwich ("9 inch") that had maybe 8 slices of turkey, 1 slice of cheese, and 2 small slices of bacon. Entire meal (2 sandwiches only with no chips or drink) was about 40 bucks, that I could have just taken 4 minutes to make at home...
I don't know what happened, I remembered beachhut is expensive, but at least they used high quality ingredients and loaded your sandwiches up. Not anymore, apparently.
I don't like complaining or anything, it's super embarrassing, but I had to walk back to the front to ask if they accidentally made me the wrong size. Nope- that was a large. Bummer. I think BHD used to have fake wrapped sandwiches to show a mock size of your meal- that wasn't there either. Manager/owner was right there with his buddy and had his back turned and seemed more concerned with watching the football game- and they have a big sign out front advertising "UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP". Pretty lame.
I'm not a big guy, and I ate this thing in like 10 small bites total. Each piece was about as big as the palm of my hand. Picture included has the second half of the sandwich with like 3 bites. Next time I'll either make something at home or just go somewhere with more reasonable pricing to...
Read moreHad a sandwich here a few days ago. Food was decent for a sandwich shop, but the disorder inside was what prompted me to write this review. Also don’t see it busy here anymore, seems that it’s fallen off a bit. First of all, this old white lady behind the counter was staring at me the entire time I was in line and ordering, not sure what that was about. It seems like some staff are decent, but others are completely incapable and clearly do not want to be there. The lobby was not very clean and there was wear and tear on some of the decor. I remember it being decorated well, with a cool beachy vibe. Now it seems bare and run down. Rocks falling off and napkins on the floor. The white girl working in the morning had a grimace our whole exchange, and was almost blatantly rude. Cashier had an attitude, and it was kinda uncomfortable. I got a hot sandwich, which was the only redeeming factor in this exchange. Food is decent, service needs a miracle. Come here if you’re...
