12/22/2021 I called in a phone order at 12:15pm and was told it would be 15-20 minutes for my order to be ready. Since part of my order was nachos and didn’t want it to be soggy, I arrived at 12:25. Once I arrived, I waiting in line to pay for about 15 minutes. Once it was my turn, I found out the person who took my phone order wrote I was an online order instead (not a big deal to me, but apparently for the staff it is). I was told it would be a few more minutes. Approximately 30-40 went by before my order was finally ready. At first, I was irritated as I called in my order early because I didn’t want to wait for it. But I took the time to look around, people watch, staff watch…. Etc. Doing so made me notice some very important details, hence the reason for providing a 5-star review, whom most people in the same situation realistically wouldn’t do. Yes the food is amazing as always, HOWEVER, the reason for my 5-star review is solely for the lady on the sandwich line. (She was friendly, professional, stressed but held it together, and had blonde hair). Even though there was someone else with her, she was running the whole restaurant by herself. She was making all the orders including door dash, online, phone and walk ins DURING lunch rush. She was also having to keep her associate on track and even had to explain the importance of ringing up a order correctly. She did all of this with such grace and class. Due to her amazing work ethic…. Even though I wanted to be annoyed with the situation, I wasn’t able too. If we had more workers like her in the world, everything would run that much smoother! So THANK YOU to the blonde hair worker for reminding me to slow down and open my eyes even if I am in a hurry or want to be irritated for an inconvenience. Keep up the...
Read moreThe sandwiches we got here were delicious! I love the whole Cali-surfer vibe and reggae music playing but as a first time visitor I was turned off by the two girls working the counter. First off it was 7:28 when we walked in and were well aware that the doors were open until 8 but the attitude delivered by the girl at the counter was really unacceptable and I think mgmt would want to know so they can reiterate to staff the importance of the tone of voice when delivering service. Right off the bat we both felt the annoyance when walked in the door to place a order at 7:28. She felt the need to stress that annoyance to us when she was very matter-of-fact tone while we placed our two sandwich, two soda order " we close at 8!" Not only was the tone rude but was not necessary. It was d3kivered as a warning. We had 32 minutes to eat our deli sandwich. What were we going to do? Have some long extended sandwich and soda party?! It was a beautiful night and we wanted to sit outside because other people were enjoying themselves outside the yogurt shop but the beach hut tables were already stacked inside. Just unnecessarily rude customer service that will probably stick with us, especially when our next deli...
Read moreWas not able to get a sandwich because, according to the employee, the toasters have to be cleaned and are not available to be used during the last hour.
I came in at 7:10. They close at 8pm.
They should thank their lucky stars they don't have a deep frier if cleaning a toaster is a task that has to be blocked out for at least 60 minutes.
Anyway I walked away hungry, but not surprised.
I'm not surprised about the employees' inability to accommodate me and clean the toaster twice. I didn't even ask, I just left.
Nor am I surprised about management's unwillingness to schedule enough hours for their employees to clean the toaster after close and continue to serve the whole menu.
That's restaurant culture nowadays unless you're willing to spend enough for fine dining.
That's one way to kill a beach hut craving. I'll be back for...
