Today was "All You Can Eat" Sunday, and the drinks were only $1. Great! The bad part was that it took sooo long to get our second servings. They even went to another table before us, but the gentleman was kind enough to point out that we were next, ahead of them. Then, after we gave them our order, it took forever to actually get our food. The 2 employees that were in the front started sweeping, mopping, and emptying the trash cans, and another employee (wearing a hair net) came out of the back (kitchen?) and wandered around a bit. Who was cooking the food? We had to repeatedly ask about our food, and they kept forgetting what we had ordered. Luckily, the gentleman at the next table kept us entertained during our mutual ordeals. (They were having the same issues that we were.) When our food FINALLY arrived, we discovered that they brought us each an extra piece of fish. That was nice, considering how long we had to wait. It was beginning to look like they were trying to wait out the clock until the promotion would be over for the night. By the time our food came, there was only about 15 minutes left. It's not like we were trying to clean them out of food. We had only eaten one serving and asked for a small second serving. At least the food was good, but they really need to get their act together. It was surprisingly lacking customers for such a great deal, but as slow as the service was, it's probably better that there weren't more people waiting. Hopefully, next time...
Read moreThe fish was well cooked and hot. French fries were plentiful, hot, and the correct amount of crunch/texture to them. The coleslaw was fresh, crisp, and moist, not dry. The shrimp was breaded and well cooked. In fact a TAD to much breading, which lead to them being a skosh greasy. The round "hush puppies" deep fried were ok. Those were mostly the positives for good ole Long John Silvers seafood restaurant. Be prepared to get your WEEKLY cholesterol issue in ONE SETTING. EVERYTHING IS DEEP FRIED, except the coleslaw. Go figure. And everything, food, floors, tables, fixtures and chairs have a very fine layer of GREASE. It goes with the territory. Another great note. One of the cooks, a short attractive Hispanic lady, came out to the dinning room and was eating a fish meal for her lunch. Which bode"s well for the quality of their seafood. Overall, great meal, they bring your food to the table. So the food is prepared fresh. And sodas are under 2 bucks for a medium. (Side not, I just put my fish on a couple of napkins before eating for a few moments, worked like a charm.) I will return to Long John Silver again, this time with a date for dinner, then a...
Read moreThe seafood here is impressive, with each dish prepared with great attention to detail. From the perfectly cooked scallops to the fresh shrimp, the flavors were spot-on without being overdone. It’s clear the kitchen knows how to bring out the best in the seafood without relying on heavy seasoning or extras.
The counter staff truly elevated the experience. They were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations that didn’t disappoint. Their warm approach made the meal more enjoyable, creating an inviting atmosphere that I really appreciated.
While everything was great, there’s always room for a little improvement, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. Perhaps a few more options on the menu or slightly quicker service during busy times could make it even better.
That said, I’d still gladly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable seafood meal. The quality of the food and the service is more than enough to make it a place worth returning to. If you’re after excellent seafood and warm hospitality, this is definitely a place...
