This place has been around for a long time, theres always customers too. I've always wanted to try this place. Looking at it from the road and in person are two completely perspectives. When you drive up it looks very old. The paint looks old school. Theres a big sign that says INSIDE DINING W/ AC. My wife and I went around the whole building while an older caucasian woman who was an employee stared at us not smiling or saying anything. My wife had to ask where the dining was. The employee replied that she has to open the door. It's at 1130am, shouldn't the door be open? We ordered our food. Theres a $1.25 charge for card, which is super high for 2019. I ordered 1 regular burger and mini 'K' dogs and she did not tell me the total and charged me for 15 dollars. And then gave me back 5 dollars in cash without explaining why. Very weird experience for someone to charge your card higher than the price and not explain anything to you. I let it go since I knew the price before she charged me so it equaled out. The food was okay, nothing special; burger patty was small with a big bun. Theres some sauce packets inside. I won't be coming again. Didnt really feel welcomed and felt out of place. This place needs a lot of upgrades with the way it looks and feels. It also needs to not charge $1.25 to use a card, that's more than anything would charge you, they're making profit off charging cards.

Visited this place for the first time on the 23rd. I'd been hearing some good things about Lou's so I arrived with somewhat high expectations. The drive-in design used by the restaurant is a cool, super convenient way to enjoy your meal in the comfort of your own space while being steps away from the order window. I ordered a double cheeseburger and small fries with water. The burger was fantastic, with the flavor and quality delivered being on par with something you might expect and In-N-Out. The fries were crisp and well salted. The main drawback from this place in my opinion is the price. My order cost me about $16, and that was only for a double cheeseburger, fries and water. Can get the exact same thing at INO for half that price. They also charge a fee for paying with a debit card, which is pretty annoying. All in all, I like this spot. Don't expect a cheap bite though.

There’s “hole-in-the-wall” bars and there’s “hole-in-the-wall” burger joints. Lou’s is absolutely just that. It might not be as fancy and sparkly as an In&Out but the burgers more than compete. The shakes with fresh fruit and syrups … FAR SURPASS the 3 little options at other burger places. As for the fries… we know that other place has them “animal style” to cover up the fresh cut but limp and bland flavor. The owners are there most days but all the staff are great. They know their regulars by name but greet everyone like family.

Completely dissatisfied right now. Typically this place is one of my favorites. Burgers and shakes are killer, fries and sides could be better but, the burger usually overshadowes the not perfect sides. 2 nights in a row I had a craving for one of there burgers. Last night I show up and there is a sign saying "Closed for Christmas Party". Ok fine, I actually like the fact that they do something like that for their crew. Tonight on the other hand is a different story. They're supposed to close a 10. I show up at 8:30 cause I don't get off work until 8. As I walk up the boards are up and they look to be cleaning. Nobody even acknowledged me. I had to be "that guy" and force their attention to me. Only to be told they are closed. No apology or explanation as to why they closed 90 minutes before the posted hours say they do. Just a head nod when I asked if they were closed. Awful business practice. As much ad I enjoy their burgers. It'll be the last time I go there. I work in retail and can understand things may come up where you can't provide the type of service you want to deliver to your customer. The complete lack of customer service I can't get past. If you want good food they have some. If you want good customer service stay away from here. Sorry Lou's but you lost a very loyal customer as well as my friends and family I've referred to your business. Good luck in the future and I hope you don't lose more customers over this type of terrible...

Burgers and shakes bomb dot com!!

There is something special about a walk up to the window to order hamburger stand that for some unknown reason is always a hit. Lou's Drive has been doing whatever it is for them to last for 60+ years!! From their burgers to their shakes you're always in for a treat. I just had a double burger and fries that was so good that writing this review has me tempted to go grab another for lunch today. Little helpful hint save a few fries for after you're done eating your burger to dip in the juices and sauce leftover in the bottom of the wrapper. You can thank me later for this one. Hahaha. Also burgers come standard with lettuce and sauce. You have to request to have pickles tomatoes and or onions added to your burger. They do ask if you like them and there is no added cost to you as for it helps them save by not assuming everyone wants any of the items. Passing the saving on to us. Now let's move on the shakes. I had probably the best and I do mean BEST milkshake I've ever had. Instead of getting my usual Peanut Butter milkshake I had ,what I call the PB&J of milkshakes, Peanut Butter with Blackberries shake. Oh man did that have me doing the happy dance as I was enjoying this shake! Trust me when I tell you that if you're hungry and in the North Highlands area give Lou's a try. It's very much...
