Read moreNoroc Restaurant gave me one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve had in Carmichael because it introduced me to Romanian and Moldovan cuisine in the most authentic way possible. The place has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the food truly felt like home cooking elevated to restaurant quality. I tried their placinta, a stuffed pastry, and it was crispy, flaky, and filled with savory goodness. Then came the mamaliga, a dish similar to polenta, served with a rich stew that was hearty and flavorful. It was the kind of meal that sticks to your ribs in the best way. The portions were generous, and every bite tasted fresh and made with love. The staff were warm and clearly proud of sharing their heritage, which made the whole experience feel personal. What I loved most was that everything felt authentic and not Americanized - it was food that really honored its roots. Noroc is the type of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something rare and special...
Read moreThe food here was fantastic. We started with the Placinte w/Farmer Cheese, which was like this amazing layered bread with cheese in it. Best cheese bread I have ever had. Then we had the Pelmeni with beef and pork. They where pretty standard dumplings. I think I still prefer Asian dumplings but they where solid. My wife had the Polenta and Fried Pork. I tried a bite and it was very good. My son had the Mititei. They where just little sausages. I got the Tabaka Chicken and I think it was the best thing we had. The skin was crisp and full of flavor. The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. This was my first experience with East European food and I was not disappointed. We ended with the Napoleon which was a layered cake with a tart flavor.
Also there was a really great singer performing during dinner.
This was one of the best dining experiences I have had in recent memory. I...
