Richards Donuts — Restaurant in California

The donuts are tasty, but don't expect them to be made correctly. I bought a BEARCLAW which is a well known donur filled with a brown sugar mixed filling that is the same everywhere, well i guess not eberywhere because here you just get an apple compote in your bearclay (well something that looks like a bearclaw) when i said something the lady said well that is how we make them. The other donut that shocked me was a Cruler. They are a real light airy eggy tasteing donut, well the two i got here were more dense than I have ever had, makeing them more chewy. Have loved Richard’s for years now. Best donuts around, never found better, even at the more expensive spots. Get in early if you want a good selection. Just be sure you have cash as this is a cash only business! Worth the hassle though. The only other downside is this isn’t the best spot if you want to sit and hang out while you eat your sweet treat and maybe have a coffee. The ambiance could use an update unless you’re into that 80’s diner vibe. We usually get a dozen to go and enjoy elsewhere. These donuts are 🔥. My husband and I have been to a lot of the shops around town and hands down this place has been a favorite so far. The prices are really good, but you need to have cash. They also keep them contained so the air won’t make the donuts stale.

Frosting is perfect! It doesn’t have that filmy/greasy taste and make you feel some type of way. The cake is super yummy and light with subtle flavors. Donut holes...
