My boyfriend and I were looking for a new spot to eat breakfast since we typically go to the same few every time. I came across Hungry Hollow and looked at the menu and photos and thought it sounded great! Now when I tell you this, I am not exaggerating…great was an understatement when walking through their door. It was PERFECT! We love small, hole in the wall, “welcome home” type places and Hungry Hollow is just that! Plus, it smelled great and we hadn’t even gotten up close to any food yet! And it was so cutely decorated, which was fun, too!
My boyfriend ordered a ham and cheese inlet w/hash browns and toast and he said it was DELICIOUS! The sourdough toast was thick, the hash browns thick shredded, and the ham was like thick ham steak in the omelet! Can’t go wrong with this classic! I ordered the Belgian waffle meal with bacon, extra crispy, and an over medium egg, side of syrup and peanut butter for the waffle, and it was fantastic! Truly one of the best Belgian waffles I’ve ever had! Crispy on the outside, soft and lightly sweet on the inside! We also got orange juice, which was good, too!
Not only was the food wonderful but the staff and service was incredible! Everybody welcomed you like family, were attentive and quick, but mainly, the employees AND customers were all SO NICE! You can tell it’s mostly locals who’ve been coming a long time, we love places like that and will now become locals ourselves at Hungry Hollow because we will absolutely continue coming back. Sherry was our waitress and she was fabulous! And Scott, whom I assume is either owner or manager, was so kind! Having good food is always key but amazing service makes the whole experience, and Hungry Hollow has both! We are so glad we found this place and can’t wait to eat...

I came here for breakfast per the reviews. When we walked in the place was packed. We were asked our drink order pretty fast. The waitresses were friendly...but never asked us if we liked our food nor thanked us for even coming in.
I got the 2 eggs...hashbrowns...linguica...breakfast.
My friend got the 2 pancake breakfast...
He thought the bacon was overcooked..but it's exactly how I love it.
The hashbrowns and linguica was just ok...no explosion in my mouth...or like I just want to come back because the food was amazing..
I thought the food was bland.. The food for sure needed seasoning. Maybe it's because a lot of elderly people eat here...or maybe because when I cook...I add a lot of flavor.
Not sure I will be back. I like other places better. But it was nice...
Read moreWould have given food 5stars because it was delicious except part way into my Monte Cristo I found a hair that had been cooked into it. Service also would have been given 5stars as well, except the server had very little time/attention for us. Although obviously a long-time professional, her questions were short & quick & then she was gone. Hard to get her attention and had to ask someone else for togo box twice as our server was busy being extremely attentive to a family that were surely long-time customers. I've served in family dining, fine dining & catering for 30yrs, maybe I'm too critical. I made sure to always make each customer feel they were as special to me as the table next to them, even if they weren't "regulars". The difference in the way she treated the two tables was stark. No one is perfect & I don't expect perfect therefore I don't give a lot of 5stars on surveys. Reviews I will give 5stars. I wanted to give Hungry Hollow 5stars because the food was friggin phenomenal until I found the hair cooked into the egg battered bread part. So if you've read this far, Go give them a chance , seriously Go! They were probably having an "off"...
