When the waitress greeted us with "You can't sit, you have to wait!" we knew this would be a dinner to remember. We were not disappointed as she proceeded to grunt "card" at a group of thirty-year-olds.
First the food came without utensils. This was fine for the wings but made the soup difficult. Upon asking for a spoon the waitress helpfully insisted that the spoon WAS there, somewhere, in the shadowy recesses twixt bowl and plate, and asked if we bothered to check the sides of the plate.
She even offered her rheumy eyes in uncovering the concave scooper, all for naught as it was never there. Upon discovering her error, she set off on a quest to procure a new utensil and not 10 minutes later we were digging into some deliciously cold clam chowder.
Upon paying for the meal, only one of the party's bills was returned with change. Why bother to bring back 28 cents in change, for one person? Why not the rest? Why swear at us in a language you thought no one understood? Just some of the many delightful mysteries that graced our night at Perry's.
Overall it was a fine dining experience that I rate at 1.5/7...

Service kind of made up for the pricy portions we were forced to swallow at breakfast this morning at Perry's in SFO. Our server, Amged, steadily flowed from table to table in his section. Nobody had to wait long to get his attention, and he did a good job offering a second round of Bloody Mary's and making sure everything was tasting great.
We declined the second drink. The tiny glasses were $9.50 and had no garnish. Give me an olive! (You can make your drink a double for $3 more.) It was a good indication of what our first meal would look like. Husband had a two egg breakfast for $13.50. It came with toast, potatoes, and he had sausage links for his meat selection. The one slice of sourdough was really hard and dry. Aren't we in sf? Not very many potatoes on the plate, but the ones there were pretty tasty.
I had clam chowder in a bread bowl ($10). Lots of big clam chunks and delicious sourdough bowl. This was the best value on the table. The portion and price resembled what I would expect to get at...
Read moreDuring my recent stop at San Francisco International Airport, I had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Perry’s, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax before my flight.
The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — exactly what you’d hope for in a quality airport dining experience. Every bite tasted like it had been made with care, and the portion sizes were just right.
A special shout-out to our server, Caroline, who truly made the meal even better. She was attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Her positive energy and professional service turned an already great lunch into a memorable moment. She anticipated our needs, made excellent recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish.
