Bottom line - the food quality was actually quite good, it was the service that was not so great. Was trying to figure out if our server was possibly newer, or just not a good listener and/or remember-er.
3 of us were promptly seated, and asked about drinks. We all ordered water, some with lemon. Water came, but no lemon - no biggie at all, until we had to ask a total of 3x over 15-20 mins for some lemon, please, as we originally had requested.
My meal was ordered with dinner rolls, but came with corn bread. When I pointed this out, the server began to take the corn bread away. When I asked what she was going to do with it, she said throw it out. I suggested she should just leave it, so it wouldn't go to waste. She said she'd have to charge us if she left it, despite the fact that she acknowledged it was completely her error.
I told her I wasn't sure we wanted to do business with a restaurant that believed in throwing good food away going to waste, just because of a small employee error. I suggested maybe she could check with the mgr and I was certain the mgr would agree... she left the corn bread and the matter didn't come up again.
When my dinner rolls finally came, I'd specifically asked if they were served with "real butter" (vs the oily margarine-infused disgusting restaurant butter) - she assured me only real butter was used. But what was served was the oily fake butter. I asked for the real butter and she immediately said she'd get some. About 20 mins later, after we'd mostly finished our meals, she dropped 2 pats of butter on the table. A bit too late.
Aside from fairly poor service (we also heard a lady next to us receive completely the wrong order from the same server, who tried to blame it on "mutual miscommunication" (uh, not so much, she got the order wrong), the chicken fried steak and eggs I ordered (yes, for dinner!) was quite good.
Except - I'd ordered an extra egg, and they only brought 2, and I'd ordered extra country gravy on the side, in addition to what comes on the meal, and it was delivered with zero gravy on the meal, and a tiny little side cup of gravy, so I had to ask... and wait yet again... for more.
I'm willing to chalk this visit up to poor service, or at a minimum, an inexperienced server (we were all new at one time). But again, the quality of the food was...
Read moreI went today because I had a craving for some deliciousness! It is also very conveniently located near the 605. I order 4 slices of pies and a 4 pack of strawberry lemonade muffins and gift card; easily over 50 bucks for just a pick up order plus tip. They said it'd be a few mins so my daughters and I waited in the sitting area.
I saw some totes in the bottom near the display where the muffins I found and I thought that those were like the paper pags that starbucks carry since, no one had given me a bag for the 4 pack of muffins I had already paid for. The lady who seemed to not really want to help me said, did you pay for the tote (even thought it looked like she was still on the phone). I told her " oh I thought they were paper bags like the ones at Starbucks." Mind you, she was still on the phone so someone else had to help me put my items in a bag. I gladly put the tote bag back. No harm, no foul. My honest mistake.
I told the ladies in the front that we would just wait in our car since it been close to 15 to 20 mins already. It was 7:52 and still nothing. I go in and no one is in the front. I wait another 5 mins and the same lady with an attitude says "oh you ordered the slices of pies". I said, yes. I said, " I had mentioned that we'd be waiting in our car." She said: "we don't do curbside pick up anymore." I said even if I literally just spent like $50? (I'll admit I was a little irritated) Even McDonald's when they take longer at the drive thru, they make you wait out front and hand you, your order by your car. The lady said "no, the amount doesn't matter." I said, "ok thank you."
I left and as I'm driving off, there's a HUGE sign outside saying dine in and curbside pickup available. 😳
So the way I'm understanding this, is either the lady doesn't know what the policies are or a sign needs to be revised. Mind you, we waited in the sitting area for 20 mins or so but my kiddos were getting antsy and I wanted to wait in the car.
Another one of the ladies made eye contact with me and didn't even signal for me to come in if the order was ready. I am thoroughly disappointed and appalled by the staff's behavior. I hope that it didn't have anything to do with my skin color and maybe it was just her having an off day. I would recommend that you take my review into consideration before spending...
Read moreI'd give it 5 stars easy, but the manager (older fella with a pot belly) cost a star for his lack of understanding or caring further to entertain the idea of my questions.
The two younger employees who worked the closing shift were awesome. Both of them we great and I would hire them because they're ability to both multitask, help other customers and take the time to help me exceed my expectations.
I myself prefer to not consume dairy or meat products. So I ordered the veggie patty burger which was phenomenal... however, it comes with Swiss cheese which I had them remove (no problem) my question to follow wasn't complicated...
"Do you offer other non dairy cheese alternatives?" I use to love cheese, like everyone else but no longer choose to consume it. No, unfortunately and understandable.
Final question, "Are the products ordered through corporate only? Or is it possible for to order from third parties and if so, would it be possible to consider ordering non dairy cheese?"
I exclaimed that if just one alternative to cheese was an option, I would be a regular because it opens up many other options that I like and I'm sure others would to. I informed them that I have tried many brands and the best plant based all natural vegan cheese that I have discovered is "Chao Slices" by Field Roast. Even the avid cheese eater would agree its delicious.
Anyway, to conclude... the manager said no, it's not possible to consider your request. Then went back to counting the cash drawer receipts or whatever job or lack thereof he would rather do than give his customers attention or explore an idea that would bring in more customers who are accustom to paying more to...
