To Whom It May Concern:
On July 25, 2021, we were on vacation and we had a bad experience with this hotel. We booked the hotel for 3 night through Booking.com and got the confirmation number as following:
Best Western Los Alamitos Inn & Suites Confirmation number 2377.241.182 PIN Code 4815 Check-in Sunday, July 25, 2021 (from 3:00 PM) Check-out Wednesday, July 28, 2021 (until 11:00 AM)
Upon our arrival, we went up to the front desk and showed the front desk clerk, named Mike Miller, our confirmation of 2 queen beds suite. Mr. Miller told us that he had no reservations for us. When we showed the confirmation number from Booking.com, he said, "I can see that but I have no room with 2 queen bed suite for you." We asked what room was available? He said he had only a king bed room. We took it because we had no choice as it was in the evening.
During the night, it was raining and room 306 was leaking through the ceiling into my eyes and face. I could not sleep. In the morning, I told the front desk about the problem. The manager, Clarissa Graves, was kind and told my wife that she offered an upgrade room to a 2-queen bed suite without extra cost. We were very happy.
In the evening, we came back from visiting my father's grave at Rose Hill Memorial Park. We told Mr. Miller about the room change per the manager. Mr. Miller told us that he had NO room for us to change to. We nicely explained that the manager moved us to a different room due to the leak. He angrily yelled at my wife, "For the 3rd time, I told you I have no room to change for you!" We told him that was fine and we needed to have access to our room 306 to retrieve our suitcases. He let us at first. A few minutes later, he went after us and said, "you're all not supposed to be in here it's under repair. You all need to leave now!" We were like, we need to retrieve our suitcases and then we leave, and it was like he wouldn't even let us stay to get our suitcases. He was so rude to our family. We told him that we were going to call the manager and he left.
As we were loading our suitcases into our car, Mr. Miller approached us and said, "I found a room for you in 303, do you want it OR NOT?" I was quiet for a few minute and then he said, "DO YOU WANT IT OR NOT?" We had no choice but to accept the offer. It's almost dark. I could not believe that my family, especially our kids, had to go through this type of treatment from Mr. Miller.
Mr. Miller needs more training in customer service skill. It was like he was mad at the world serving customers and that is not good for business. I don't know what kind of customer skills training he had, but this was horrible service he offered to us. Maybe he discriminated against Asian but who knows. We would not be back to this...
Read moreRooms are very nice and well kept. Rooms with 2 Queen beds have a lot of space and the AC/heater unit are very strong and produce the desired temperature quickly. Bathroom is average size, it is quite difficult to have 2 people in there simultaneously, but the shower is big enough for 2 people. Room includes mini fridge/freezer, microwave, and flat screen TV. Microwave button is tricky, but the hotel desk will answer any questions you have.
Pool is okay, nothing special or extra extravagant - this area closes at 9 pm and is not a large area. A few tables and chairs are set up, but nothing else is offered with the pool.
Complimentary breakfast is wonderful and you can expect hot food, such as eggs (poached or hard-boiled), sausage, waffles, etc. There is free coffee, orange juice and apple juice and plenty of muffins, yogurt, and side dishes provided during breakfast. This is served until 10 or 10:30 am, so be mindful of the time you wake up.
Parking in this location is not the best setup. Spaces are compact and limited so if spaces are full, guests are instructed to park in the red zones, which is nice until all of those spaces get taken. Street parking is limited as well, so it may be necessary to walk if none of the mentioned spaces are available.
Overall, I would recommend this location/hotel since my stay was pleasant and no issues came up. I stayed for a family reunion event, so nightly costs were cheaper than the average nightly rate that the...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel aug 18th checked out aug 21st. On the 19th my AIR CONDITIONER CAUGHT ON FIRE. At 3 am my fire alarm started going off we flew out of bed to find our ac smoking my husband turned off the ac and fanned the alarm. I tried to call the front desk but my phone on the side table didnt work so i had to walk down to front desk to tell them something is burning and my fire alarm was going off. They told me there was nothing they could do but in the morning i could switch rooms.
In the morning they said they had no more rooms available and i essentially told them to figure it out because i wasn't staying in that room with the burnt rubber /plastic smell. So they switch my rooms to a room with 0 water pressure in the shower which i didnt find out until coming home from beach with sand in my hair because the shower won't switch from bath to shower.
Their solution? Give you $10 off one night. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that the rubber smell was normal when you turn on your heater.((which btw i never dud because its freaking AUGUST) the ac was on, not the heater. And even if i did put on my heater why would a heater smoke until fire alarm goes ofd at 3 am. She said that "these things happen sometimes."
Avoid this place like the plague. Unless you want to not sleep and wake up in the middle of the night from a smoking fire alarm only to be told "these...
