Oh to be yelled at and traumatized by the manager Mercedes... Went in at 3:58 to surprisingly and empty parking lot and empty dining room. Which was surprising since I've seen lines all week since it opened. About 20 employees working when I ordered which impressed me when the food was out 30 seconds after. That should've warned me right away that the chicken was going to taste undercooked and taste like the oil! Fries were dried up like a desert, Mac n cheese was the most greasy oil slick bowl I've ever seen and the biscuit made me choke it was like a rock. Unfortunately this entire time my BF was watching me eat because his order (which was placed right after me) was forgotten about 15 mins later. Meanwhile other customers came in placed their order and left. At 4:16 they finally gave him his chicken sandwich only for it to be colder than if you left it sitting out for hours. Where did they find this the back rooms? He returned it and asked for a new one, politely, to which they made a fuss but said ok. At 4:30 after I had already finished up my food, he gave up and just asked for a refund. MERCEDES the manager YELLED at us in front of the entire restaurant and other employees that "She was giving us a refund because HE DOESN'T WANT HIS FOOD." No lady, this man is starving and depressed because we've been looking forward to this opening since it was announced. We don't have a lot going on in Menifee so we were hyped. If I had known I was going to spend $20 on the worst meal I've ever eaten I would've gone to Daves, Canes or Chick-fil-A to at least add some value for my buck. But instead we got gas lit by MERCEDES that stated he came in NOT WANTING TO EAT. Like we just wanted to hangout in the lobby or ??? Anyways crazy boomer wasn't worth the effort to call her out or raise a stink although we had plenty to say and laugh about her in the car while we drove to Chick-fil-A and had a lovely meal where the employees treated us nicely and didn't yell at us.
So welcome to Popeyes where the food is overpriced gross oil slick yet dried up and the employees yell at the customers for...
Read moreI was debating whether or not to leave this review as I typically do not have issues at this location. But it is a great learning opportunity for the Manager, Veronica. My other half went Popeyes last week and ordered the 25.00 meal Which included 10 chicken, 6 biscuits and 2 large sides. We brought the items home and noticed that the biscuits were not in the bag, assuming it was in the large box only to find the chicken. After realizing the issue, we called the store right away explaining the mistake. We spoke to Elliot, who resolved the issue and mentioned that we could come in the next day and that he would give it to us, he was great. Life happened- we got busy, as Popeyes is out of our way we could not pick it up so we went the day after which was Sunday, not thinking this was a big issue at all, as it is biscuits I did not call ahead to give a warning. My other half went and was told that she could not have the 6 pieces of biscuits as Elliot was not working that day and didn’t leave any notes. Her words were “we can’t just give out free food” and when she told Veronica her name she said “if that’s the name you gave him, I guarantee he would not have wrote that down” as if it was too long or complicated, her name is 8 letters long and not complicated in the slightest. Veronica explained that we have to come back when Elliot worked after she drove all the way out to get these which is a mistake made by the packer, not us. Veronica, I did not realize that you were the manager until I read earlier comments, you have a lot of great reviews maybe it was an off day but we are managers too both my other half and I. Making a customer go back again for 6 pieces of biscuits is absurd. Of course we would not want to come back, the cost of gas was more than the biscuits. Even if you may not have meant what you said in a way of assuming we were “lying” or being “deceiving” its definitely how it sounded. It’s both what you say and how you say it. Please understand that going forward, to not lose customers over 6 pieces of...
Read moreUPDATE 040821 I have increased my rating from one to three stars. I would go a higher, but I will leave room for improvement. After receiving a call back from the General Manager about my situation, she really went above and beyond remedying my unfortunate experience at my local Popeye's. It went a long way with me that she took the time to address this shortfall personally. Thank you very much.
This had to have been the worst experience I've had at any Popeyes in my lifetime. From ordering online, through the app, and the wait I had to endure was so disappointing. Both the app and website did not display mac n cheese and the Bigger Family Feast order/customization was not cooperating whatsoever. I even had other family members try it to ensure I wasn't doing anything wrong to which they couldn't figure it out either. This whole event was miserable. What really ticked me off was that neither the general manager nor the owner once acknowledged my hour-long wait. Nothing was offered as an inconvenience even as multiple families and customers piled in and out of the restaurant, and I was left standing there waiting, steaming! It took all of my patience not to create a scene, but Lord o Mighty did I want to. This was terrible and unacceptable service. After about 30 minutes of waiting, you'd think my order would become a priority. NOPE not here! This will be the last time I order anything of this size again. For a customer who spent nearly $70, I expected...
