We were looking forward to dining at Quecho as they received awesome Google reviews and thankfully, by the time we arrived there wasn’t a wait. The ambiance was relaxed and the AC worked well which we appreciated on such a hot day. Our waitress was also incredibly nice and welcoming. We ordered the chef’s taco plate which consisted of two carnitas, pollo and carne asada tacos. Sadly, the carnitas and pollo were dry and bland. The carne asada had a little flavor, but there were unchewable pieces. The spicy salsa was delicious though. It helped add the clearly lacking flavor. We also ordered Mr. Manitas’ famous nachos and the best part of this dish were the chips. They were crunchy and salty. The carne asada on this plate had less flavor, but they were at least tender and tasted fresher. The cheese was too strong and the salsa had no depth. Overall, another disappointing dish. My daughter ordered their bean and cheese burrito and sadly, this too, was insipid. Luckily, their rice was decent enough that my daughter ate that instead. For dessert, we tried to order a Julian apple pie, but they were sold out. What?! We are in Julian, known for apple pies and there is literally, an apple pie shop down the street. It seems like it should be the one dessert, well stocked. I also ordered their classic margarita and it was just alright. It was a little sweeter than I preferred. We spent, with tip $92.72. Their prices were quite reasonable, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend the food.

We live not far away and are staying in town and wanted something new, something different... We happened to walk by and came in for dinner and wow amazing! There are so many cute tourist spots here in Julian eat here before you can't get in. The service was outstanding, the food was beyond amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing and friendly. You feel welcome here it's different. My wife and I tried different items and everything was just perfect. Oh, make sure you get the chips and salsa. The chips are thick, handmaid, fresh and warm! The salsa had just the right heat and had a flavor and consistency that set the expectations something amazing was right around the corner. Worth the drive and if there is a wait, wait.

We first got there around 1445 and the waitress told us that it was going to be roughly a 30 minute wait becuase they where backed up. My family and I said that's okay and went and sat down out back. Our waitress came back and said that the wait is going to be roughly 20 minutes now since there good cook just arrived. We where excited at this point. She took our drink order at roughly 1500, and then brought our drinks back to us and we ordered an appetizer. Roughly 1530 came around and no appetizers and our waitress is no where to be found. She came in and out assisting other customers that came in after our family. I then decided to go inside to look for her. She was standing behind the bar talking to the other Co worker. I walked in and told her that we have been ready to order. She said that she was just about to come out unless we wanted to order right then and there. So that's what I did, I placed the order. A burrito for me, my wife got the tacos with a side of beans, and her sister got the salad. Then I walked back outside. Shortly after that our appetizer came out but this was brought by another waitress, she was a tall blonde girl, and was absolutely wonderful. Then our original waitress came out and told us that all of the carne was gone and we had to pick something different, so we just picked a different meat. This was approximately at 1545. At approximately 1600 our food came out. We ate it and it was half way decent. At approximately 1615 our original waitress came to check in on us. I asked for another soda and so did my sister in law. She kept turning her back and trying to walk away and I had to keep asking her to come back so I could tell her what we wanted. At approximately 1630 I asked for the check. The young blonde brought it out and I paid the tab. When she brought out the reciept I noticed that we where charged for our original food with the carne meat. That wouldn't have been a huge deal, however the carne meat was more expensive. My wife also never got her side of beans with her tacos. My wife and her sister left and I went back inside to find our original waitress again just standing at the bar talking. I brought to her attention the discrepancies with our check, she stated just not to leave a tip becuase the total of the food that wasn't delivered was roughly $3.50 ish. I told her no I wanted my money back and I was not leaving a tip becuase the service was not good. All in all I would not recommend Quecho, bad service, and the food was...

Food was fine, not bad at all but I've certainly had better mexican. (We got the enchiladas and the nachos). Portion sizes are reasonable but not huge - big enough.

Service was absolutely abysmal though, unfortunately. It was apple days (very busy season in Julian), so I understand that this restaurant was very busy the day/time we went. However, they should then limit seating, OR, allow for counter service.

We arrived and no one greeted us (everyone was run off their feet), so we asked if we order at the counter, or sit. They told us to go sit with the menus and they'd come take our order. We waited 20 mins and no one came, so we went back to the counter to order, but were told to go sit down and they would come to us. Waited another 10-15 and finally they came. Took our order very rushed and then brought us water and left. We did not see or hear from them again for about 45-60 mins. Our food finally was delivered, and we asked for some red salsa. They said they'd bring it out, but obviously forgot so I went back to the counter. We kept getting missed or forgotten. Same goes with water refills, I asked if I could just fill my own glass but they said they'd bring it to me. Took forever. When we finished eating, same story with our bill.

Really brutal service for a place with such a high rating on Google. Everyone seemed nice, and the food was fine, but I can't justify rating this over 3 stars given our bad experience.

Hope they figure their...
