I have tried Turkish baklava, Palestinian homemade knufeh and now I have tried delicious Syrian made desserts what a joy! I entered the store and it was empty and I was so eager and hungry that I wanted to pick up a cookie and eat one to try haha good thing I didnโt because the owner came out and greeted me. He was warm, friendly and super busy trying to answer my questions about what each one was, ingredients used all while answering calls non stop. I chose one of each of the assortments and I was surprised at the taste of each. My favorite ones were the knafeh (the brown colored one) since I loved the crunchy exterior, the nest looking cookie with pistachios in the middle, the green roll of pistachio (so delicious without being overly sweet) and of course the Turkish delights (pomegranate and saffron). If you have an interest in tasting middle eastern desserts this is by far the best place to go and if you choose to do try their ice cream (which to me resembled the taste of nougat with pistachios). Thereโs plenty of parking and the owner bakes everything himself and is willing to explain everything if you have questions about what the items are. They also have a variety of foreign sodas and...
ย ย ย Read moreI went to try this place for the first time and it is also my last time, first of all the kunafah , basbosa and cookies with pistachios were so awful, the kunafah was disgusting, mostly cheese, and a very thin layer of kunafeh on top only, no layers at the bottom, very cheap and disgusting, so i was eating very disgusting kind of cheese by itself, the basbosa wasn't fresh at all, it seems like it's been there for atleast a week, it tasted disgusting and it actually caused me stomach discomfort after eating it, speaking of the prices there, it's very pricy, over rated and over priced, one piece of kunafah is 10 dollar , one tray of cookies is 80$, those are prices from the moon for this disgusting food, i ended up throwing away the kunafah, i would never come back and i hope nobody goes there unless you wanna get sick and lose...
ย ย ย Read moreIโve been buying from Sham Sweets for a while now, and they never disappoint. Their desserts are consistently fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The baklava is always perfectly flaky, and their knafeh strikes the perfect balance between sweetness and texture.
What truly sets them apart is Abu Malik, the owner. He is one of the most humble, honest, and experienced bakers Iโve ever met. You can tell he pours his heart into every piece of dessert they make, and it shows.
If youโre looking for high-quality Middle Eastern sweets made with care and expertise, I canโt recommend Sham Sweets enough. Iโll continue to be a...
