Went to the Fulton Ave location for an after midnight bite to eat. Ordered the Chicken Chimichanga combo meal. The portion is amazing for $12 bucks! I love the rice! Cooked perfectly! Beans were a little too salty and mushy for my taste but mixed together with the rice and salsa, it tasted really good. The Chimichanga…ugggh…the main part of the meal…sooo anti-climactic! First, I have to say that I have never seen a Chimichanga served wet before. I did not know they put sauce on it or J would’ve requested it dry. Anywhooo…. The red sauce made my under deep fried Chimichanga rubbery and unable to cut. I couldn’t pick it up and eat it because it was wet. So I decided to just work around the soggy tortilla and eat the chicken in the middle. Had to put the breaks on that too! While the chicken was nice and tender, it was also very very salty and the flavor was leaning toward chicken tortilla soup. So..rice and beans it was. We ordered at about 2 in the morning so perhaps the chicken was just sitting too long..and as far as the soggy tortilla, I think next time I’ll try it dry like I am used to, and the beef one instead. I alway thought the idea of a Chimichanga was to enjoy the crisp flakey deep fried flour tortilla with yummy stuff inside..not just a slightly crisp burrito...
Read moreI have lived in Sacramento for over 10 years and I have been coming to this California Burrito ever since they open their location, after today I will not ...nor do I recommend anybody going to this location after I offered to pay it forward and pay for the order behind me. ....I have the receipt to prove that they only charged me for my order, on my bank account it shows that I paid for myself and the car behind me. When I sat in front of the car behind me after I paid for my order I watch them charge the car behind me again for their order. I called the location and she said the manager was not in and I demanded that the manager call me as soon as possible. The manager is yet to call me. I am furious I demand that my money come back after I offered to do nothing but a simple gesture of kindness and they took advantage of me and the customer behind me. This is bad business and this is bad as a human being and as a person trying to do something kind for somebody else why would you take advantage of somebody? I will never return to another California Burrito in my life. I highly suggest nobody else ever return to California Burrito after taking advantage of somebody trying to be kind in this kind...
Read moreGood burritos and love that it's a drive thru as well. I recommend trying it out.
Update: It’s a hit or a miss here. I’ve had burritos where it’s just beans and rices and barely any meat. It can be disappointing at times and other times it can be really good. I got a burrito and a taco on 7/3/18 at night and it was actually really good. I had loads of meat and a good amount of chili verde sauce with good ratio of beans and rice with Pico de gallo. Guacamole on the side. All really good. It was fresh. Maybe shipment came in for the rush on 4th of July I don’t know 🤷🏻♀️. But this last experience was good. As for being rude I haven’t had that problem but I’ve heard it. Yes they can definitely work on their attitude with customer. It’s a business and these people are giving you money to stay in business. Don’t push people away and talk in Spanish about them in front of them. In high school people take Spanish and actually learn the language and understand it. People are not stupid. All these current negative reviews can take you down and I and I am sure a lot of other people agree you should take these reviews and work on what people are saying about this...
