👌👌👌A restaurant to impress ! Eat here regularly. Excellent vegetarian and meat menus. New York old city area style restaurant, tables are stylish, a little cramped, bustling, ...social. A premiere choice to impress a date, business associates, family, friends...
Staff are friendly. Nicely decorated.
Menu items include something for most everyone. A safe place to take a group. Vegetarian, Chicken, Lamb, Beef...
8/2024 Sparkling water on tap. Consistently well prepared food.
5/2024 My wife tried the salmon and was impressed. No fishy smell nor taste. Seasoned and prepared well.
11/2023 Impossible Burger veggie wrap ❤️
9/2019 A large group in the group event room is currently being catered by staff, yet we received high quality food and service. We carried on normal voice level conversations and the group event didn't have any impact on us at all.
6/14/2019 Very good about serving everyone at the same time. Most restaurants the food is cold for some before everyone gets their food to eat together.
6/5/2019 Wonderful entrees prepared very well, and timely. The fresh bread and vegetables appetizer served are wonderful. As of 2024 you need to order vegetables and feta as an appetizer.
12/2018: Outstanding Christmas Day service. Packed, yet friendly and responsive. They worked consistently to keep everyone happy.
Vegetarians - take notice - 9 entrees
Impossible Koobideh Kabob; veggie kabob
The cranberry rice is outstanding.
The khoresht gheyma bademajan with the whole pieces of eggplant and mushroom is wonderful. Better known to staff as Gheyma Bademajan Vegetarian, is my favorite. A must try for Vegetarians.
The gormeh sabzi is sooo much better with the mushrooms.
Then there is Persian Poetry Night once a month. Their events room is great for private events.
Famous Kabob has become a true gem in the...
Read moreFirst of all, please learn English or hire someone who can speak English.
When they brought us our bill, it had someone else’s credit card inside. Since the credit card did not belong to us and some items on the tab were incorrect, we assumed that it was not our bill. We went upfront and explained that it does not seem like our bill, returned the credit card and asked for our bill. The lady behind the counter was confused because she barely spoke any English. Then she punched a number on a calculator and told us to pay. We asked for our bill so we can see what we are paying for and so we can split it. She was having a hard time understanding us.
An older man behind the counter (seemed like an owner or a boss) began getting frustrated and started yelling at the lady. Then he grabbed a menu, tossed it on the counter, and began pointing his finger on the bottom of the page and yelling “TIP, TIP, TIP”. On the bottom of the page it stated that tip for a party of 5 or more was 15%. Then we asked him to split the tab. He began shouting at us that we should have told them to split the check right away. We told him that they never asked if we want it split or not. He split the check and was charging me for #3 and #7. I explained to him that I ordered #3 and my wife ordered #5. He started yelling at me that she was served #7. Again, I explained that she ordered #5. He continued yelling something at me, but I could not understand him. So, I paid for whatever he was charging me just to make him stop yelling.
That guy is rude, disrespectful, and should not yell at his customers. Additionally, they should take a better care of people’s credit cards. I still don’t know whose credit card they were...
Read moreFamous Kabob – A Persian Culinary Gem in Sacramento If you're looking for an authentic Persian dining experience, Famous Kabob delivers on all fronts. This traditional spot offers a rich menu, bold flavors, and warm hospitality. Menu: The selection is extensive—you'll find nearly every classic Persian dish you could crave. Flavors: From the stews to the sides, everything is packed with flavor. Each dish feels thoughtfully prepared and true to its roots. Value: Generous portions, delicious taste, and reasonable prices make it a great value. Kababs: o Koobideh (seasoned ground sirloin) – Very good. o Barg (filet mignon slices) – Also very good. o Chicken Kabab – The traditional Cornish hen (bone-in) served with Zereshk Polo (barberry rice) and I personally add a side of Koobideh, it is a must-try. You get the best of both worlds—beef and chicken. Highly recommended! Appetizers & Sides: o Tadig with stew – Crispy rice paired with your choice of stew is a treat. o Salad Shirazi (chopped cucumber, tomato, and red onion), Mast-o-Musir (yogurt with shallots), and more—each one fresh and flavorful. o Taftoon Bread – Baked in-house and served warm. Try it with Sabzi Khordan and feta, or dip it into Mast-o-Musir. Absolutely excellent! Ambience & Service: Cozy atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. You’ll feel welcome from the moment...
