I work for Alaska Airlines at SFO when we heard that we are moving from terminal 2 to terminal 1 i got excited because i knew there is a filipino restaurant in terminal 1. Two days after we moved to Terminal 1 i went to Mama Go’s after hearing from other filipino co- workers that the food is good. I got there waited a bit and i said to the guy. Excuse me thinking maybe he did not notice me, he replied with “ You need to wait” im like ok, but he could have used other phrases like “i will be right there”, “ give me a minute”, i’ll be right with you’ like friendly and welcoming words in the first place he is in The service industry. I ignored it and ordered when i was able to. I have been there many times since then, yesterday i was there too and no issues with other employees. Each time i was there this guy was not there, i think its important to mention that. Today, August 20th at 7am. I went back there with a co-worker, and the guy was there working as a cashier. When i was paying i noticed that one of my orders was not in the bag, so i said ‘ i ordered a croissant too in a nice way, he replied in a nasty tone “ we’re heating it up, you need to wait”. No one told me that its going to be heated up to begin with that’s why i asked. Why the attitude and rudeness? He said to me, i dont have an attitude. You may not be aware of your bad attitude but am not the only one noticing that. As a matter of fact 2-3 other co workers experienced his rudeness. I can not say bad about the food because i llke them specially arroz caldo and pansit but who wants to keep patronizing this restaurant if i get bad vibe from this person. I hope the owner read this comment or review and remind his/her employees of good customer service. Or if he is part owner or owner, you are definitely setting a bad example and showing your employees of what not to do....
Read moreIt was okay, I feel like I saw all the hype reviews and set my expectations too high, and also the meat entrees might be more exciting than the vegan meal that I got. I got the 1-entree combo plate with the vegetable stir fry, pancit rice noodles, and a veggie spring roll. The spring roll was very good, crispy and flaky. The stir fry had a nice flavour but was a little plain to have as a main entree (as in it felt like it should be a side to something more substantial), and with vegetables you can tell when something has been sitting under the warmer for a while - which is okay, it is what it is and I wanted something fast, but there is just a certain taste/texture to pre-cooked food that is less exciting than getting something freshly made. I liked the texture of the rice noodles and the flavour that was imparted by cooking them with veggies. I also got an iced ube latte with coconut jelly, which was pretty good. They use good oat milk which made it very creamy. I know airport food tends to be more expensive than comparable food in the real world, but I was still pretty taken aback that my entree and bubble tea together was about $30. I didn't think it was anywhere near worth $30 for this cafeteria food and regular bubble tea. I thought this was inflated even by airport standards. So, it's fine, I'm glad I tried it because I like to patronize a local business instead of a mega chain, and the people were super nice. However, I was not so impressed with it that I'll be running back if I fly through SFO again. It is possible I just ordered the...
Read moreI was excited to try Mama Go’s at SFO Terminal 1, especially since Filipino street food isn’t always easy to find at airports. The menu looked promising, and I opted for the Deluxe Street Food Sampler, which includes a bit of everything: a chicken skewer, pork lumpia (egg roll), siomai (steamed dumpling), a veggie spring roll, and a generous handful of wonton chips.
The taste overall was good, but the main issue was temperature—everything was served cold. It seems the items are pre-cooked and left out on the counter without any food warmers. This took away from the freshness and appeal of what could have been a really satisfying snack box.
The chicken skewer was tender and had that classic Filipino-style barbecue flavor—sweet and slightly smoky. Personally, I found it a bit too sweet, but the marinade was flavorful and well-balanced with the char. Surprisingly, it still tasted pretty good cold, though I imagine it would have been much better warm.
The pork lumpia and veggie spring roll were both crispy and satisfying. The outer wrappers were golden and crunchy, and each was packed with flavorful fillings. The pork lumpia had a savory bite, while the veggie roll was light but not bland.
The wonton chips were a pleasant surprise—ultra crunchy, and very addictive. They added a nice touch for the snack box.
Service was efficient and friendly, and the food was ready quickly, which is great if you’re in a rush before your flight. Still, I’d love to see them improve the food holding process so that dishes stay...
