Am I reviewing the food? No, of course not, because let’s be honest, all Taco Bell food is basically the same.
No, I am reviewing the drive through experience. I can not emphasize enough how slow it is. I routinely wait at least 15 minutes just to get to the ordering screen, and that’s even with people in line ahead of me reversing out and driving away in disgust. And who knew that they have a policy of free food if you have to wait 20 minutes for it? Well I do, thanks to the misfortune of ordering then being stuck there. And that 20 minutes is from when you order to when you receive your food (not waiting just to order). So tonight I finally had enough and extricated myself from the pre-ordering line to drive 10 minutes away to the Taco Bell in El Dorado Hills. I can say with near certainty that I was able to drive there, order and receive my food, and drive back in the time that it would have taken to get my food at the Cameron Park restaurant. And don’t try to suggest that I go inside. There’s a long line in there too and nobody at the register.
Oh and one more thing. They NEVER had the seasonal frozen beverage all summer, even though they advertised it. Want a watermelon icee with candy seeds? So do I! That sounds delicious! But is it? I have no idea because I was never able to get one!
It just disappoints me that a restaurant can continue to skate by on its brand name and proximity to a major highway, rather than doing what it can to make it a convenient FAST...
Read moreTaco Bell is the ONLY fast food I'll eat! This place may have changed that. I was given a secret from a fast food server nearly 20 yrs ago. He said, "ALWAYS make your order different from what is on each item. That way you can't be sure that it's fresher than what's on the hot tray - ready to serve." So, I asked for extra pico, lettuce and onions without sour cream on my crunchwrap. My lunch was cold, the lettuce smelled/tasted old (like old bagged lettuce), the onions were soggy and clear!! And, there was sour cream on my wrap!! Of course, it was remade but still same with the lettuce, onions and pico. Gross tasting! The service was interesting...1 staff member was LAYING down on table, requesting a pillow. She was literally sleeping on the counter where diners sit! She and several others were shouting back/forth on their personal life as if they were the only ones in the restaurant. In fact, there was me, a dad n son, an elderly couple, a young family with 3 small children and 2 separate young men who looked like they, too, were on a lunch break. Although there was nothing really obnoxious about the staff and service, that whole episode was difficult to ignore in this very small close quarters. Save your $$ and go to...
Read moreWorst Taco Bell in the area. Ordered 3 burritos, a Crunchwrap, and a quesadilla for the kids. When I was ordering I asked for a quesadilla with no sauce. The guy taking my order said “can you repeat that” so I repeated myself, ever time I re-said the order he just kept asking me to repeat it. He finally says “I’m just playin with you” after 4 attempt to order 1 item. I finish placing my order while they serve the bicycle that’s 2 cars in front of me in the drive through.
I get to the pickup window and the guy said the fryer is broken. Okay, no big deal he removes the item from my order. I get the food about 10-12min later. As soon as I leave the drive through I notice the Crunchwrap is missing. But I have no receipt so I cut my losses and go home. Open the burrito to find they put no meat in it and smashed it. So it’s just smashed sour cream and cheese. Now I’m not thrilled. Then I open the quesadilla for the little one and it has no cheese and it completely burnt and rock hard. Paid for 5 items and only 2 were edible.
Guess they can only handle putting beans and onions in a tortilla. Anything beyond...
