So, we tried coming here the first week they opened. You'd think a place with "mimosa" in the name that they'd serve alcohol. No. It took them a few weeks after opening to get their liquor license. No problem. We went back recently to give them a shot. I ordered steak (medium) and eggs. The steak was burned on the outside and raw in the middle. Not medium rare, not even rare. It was literally raw. I asked our server to see if the chef could cook it a little more. I was not looking for free food or a discount, nor was I trying to make the cook's life difficult. I just wanted to be able to eat what I paid for. Those of you who have been there know that the kitchen is pretty open, so you can see what's going on in there. Oh boy, the chef was sure unhappy with me. Yelling at the server, gesturing angrily, throwing things around... I felt bad for the server, and I felt bad that I said anything at all. They remade it for me, but honestly the attitude kind of soured...

We sat down, after our drinks she didn’t come back, at all, to refill coffee, drinks, etc. We asked 3 times, she acknowledged it but not served; didn’t listen to our requests regarding the food and didn’t come back until the end to check if we need something. From the beginning she didn’t show interest in attending us. We were not the only tables dissatisfied, we heard two more tables complained about her service.
The food was excellent, nice flavors and fresh veggies - fruits. All the plates were nicely presented and cooked. Good portions and the price range is good for what you get. A variety of food and drinks; good prices for mimosas and well prepared.
The place is beautiful and well kept, nicely remodeled and clean. Bathrooms are clean and...
Read moreRey Mimosa in Cameron Park, CA, is a family owned local breakfast and lunch place. They have a huge menu… lots of options from American breakfast (plates, French toasts, skillets, pancakes, Benedict’s), Mexican breakfast, crepes, burgers, sandwiches, salads, kids menu, and of course their signature mimosas. Solid comfort food. The service is down right hospitable. Family friendly place.
Hubs ordered the club sandwich and onion rings. They used pre-sliced lunch meat, nothing wrong with that. Classic solid sandwich option. I had the steak and chilaquiles verde. It was my first time ordering it from them. The tortillas were soft and served in verde sauce. I was hoping for a bit more crunch and crispiness. The verde flavor was spot on, delicious.
