First and foremost if you're looking for a value mill this is not the place to go! Can you say way overpriced... I mean $11 for 2 small soups and I mean small soups. One was a clam chowder their Friday special and the other was supposed to be "chilli" For one it had the most gritty texture As if somebody poured sand into it. Kind of curious as to what that could be... To make it even that much better since it was so overpriced the crackers were stale. You'd figure with them charging such high prices they should be able to afford fresh crackers, no? To drop it all off as if that weren't enoi have one long dark hair in my clam chowder To drop it all off as if that weren't enoi have one long dark hair in my clam chowder! I am so infuriated not to mention disgustingly grossed out! When I Called down there I received a rather rude voice telling me to bring the food back and the hair along with it! Sorry but my first reaction was not to save the hair that I just pulled out of my mouth that was not mine mind you how soul that was the grotesque And literally stomach churning I didn't say ther hair sorry! Needless to say I will never ever spend my hard-earned money there again! As far as recommending this restaurant for eating not for your pocket book not for your taste buds and definitely not for your "Tummy" to be full on! Not yummy...
Read moreThere are sub-shops, and there are sub-shops . . . then there is Tummy's!
Tummy's in Rio Linda, California, has been around for a good long while, and I was a regular customer for about 12 of those years. I worked at the neighboring fertilizer plant and tried to get over to Tummy's for lunch as often as I could. And whenever the work called for overtime, it was most often attended with a bagged "dinner" order from Tummy's!
This place is famous for its subs, pure and simple. It doesn't have all the chrome and glamor of its uptown, franchised rivals, and it surely doesn't have what you'd call a decent parking space. But that all falls by the wayside once you bite into one of their gorgeous sub sandwiches. There are two basic things that separate a great sub from all the rest: fresh tasty breads and fresh tasty meats! And then there's that gal behind the well-worn counter who knows how to dish it all up!
If you're in the area and are thinking of lunch or dinner, then you owe it to yourself to see what a truly great submarine sandwich is all about. It's down-home, lip smack'n, fully satisfying food for the body and soul! And who cares about the price when that's being offered? (You might even want to keep the paper wrapping as...
Read moreI was talked into trying Tummy's last month. I was given a basic turkey sandwich. It was delicious. I have been wanting to come back but life got in the way.. that is until today when I went in for myself and saw the menu. I was surprised and thrilled to see BBQ Beef on the menu. I have tried everything out in Sac as far as a BBQ beef sandwich that could either live up to Wood Ranch's award winning BBQ, from Sauces, the Back 40, to Double Barrel BBQ. All good, but not amazing.
Tummies had it! By far the best BBQ Beef sandwich I have had in years. Way WAY better than Kinders BBQ Beef. The two ladies working today were amazing and friendly.
Sorry to write such a long review, but there are two things I love for food more than anything, Good BBQ and Good Carne Asada. I luckily now know where to get the best BBQ...
