First off, I don't like giving bad reviews. If I give a bad review it is a result of an unpleasant experience. Who wants that? Secondly, if I pay for a value that I don't feel gets delivered, then I feel as though I've thrown my money away as well. That being said....
I just finished eating the lunch buffet here that they advertise during the week. I arrived at 12:30pm, prime time for lunch buffet. The buffet with a glass of tea = $15. Not cheap. I understand this is California... but, I also could see how little they actually offer in the way of variety on their ONE STEAM TABLE. . Now I want you, the reader, to know that I love Chinese food. The only thing I love more than Chinese food is a Chinese food buffet. Literally, I have visited Chinese buffets all over this country. Its a penchant of mine. And, I have got to say, this was the absolute poorest example and the most overpriced offering of a Chinese buffet that I have EVER experienced. I've been to some bad ones, but, none like this. The ONLY items on this buffet that I can honestly say that I don't believe they did a poor job on was their white sticky rice and the egg drop soup. Period. And, I'm serious. That's it. Horrible.
I really went into this restaurant with high expectations from the reviews. I was looking forward to it. I was greatly disappointed.
Item's offered were overcooked and bland. I mean absolutely horrible. Lo mein is normally prepared with an oyster sauce. Not here. Their egg fried rice looked like an anemic version of beef rice pilaf without any additives. Their dishes were absent of any real distinguishable flavor(s). I've had good Chinese food. I know what good Chinese food is. I will never visit this place again, and would not recommend it to anyone. This was my experience only...
Read moreStopped by on a weekend (no lunch deal) and got the General Tapio's chicken. Who is General Tapio? Is he Tso's cousin? Never heard of him. Perhaps he's General Tso's spicy cousin? Because according to the menu, General Tapio's Chicken is supposed to be spicy.
The dish came with white rice, which I substituted for fried rice for additional $2. Not worth it. The fried rice was as bland as white rice and it was very meager; just a tiny bowl about the size of a teenage girl's fist.
The chicken itself was ok. I like the crispiness of it. It came with a whole lot of sauce! The sauce was not spicy at all to me. I would compare it to the level of regular orange chicken with a dab of spice; nothing to break a sweat about.
The service was curt, bordering on unfriendly, as if I'm bothering her when I asked for a refill of my water. Well, at least it wasn't horrible.
The best thing about this place is the housemade chili oil. It's pretty tasty, not that spicy, but I appreciate that it's housemade.
I wouldn't come back to this place for the price you pay to get merely okaaaaay food. You can pay with...
Read moreSo our first time there yesterday. They opened at 4 and we ordered shortly thereafter.
Got two #1s, vegetable noodles and the special noodle soup.
The only item that was good was the sweet and sour chicken though even that was more deep fried batter than chicken. The rest was a hot mess, my guess is we were the first order of the day and they heated up leftovers. Noodles were so over cooked and chopped up, no way they made it fresh, you couldn't have possibly cooked it to this mushy consistency in the 15 minutes it too us to pick up
The noodles and veggies was supposed to have carrot water chestnuts, broccoli, heaters if Palm etc, it only had broccoli and was also mushy.
Egg rolls see were soooooo greasy they had to have been leftovers refried.
Such a disappointing meal and nearly $60 at that. Though I'd rather support an independent business we will stick with Panda Express, much fresher and better quality. The...
