La Prima Pizza, Noticed this cute place on our way to Golden Haven Springs for a girls self care day! After our morning at the spa my friend and I were ready to eat, this place stuck in our head and we agreed to go here & man we were so glad we did! The place was close to the main road back to the Bay Area & there was lots of parking. First impression of the outside, it was so cute, there was a nice patio area where we dined that was shaded & had a nice & quiet view of trees and greenery around. There was ramps for wheelchair accessibility & the inside was inviting and clean. There was tv & the bathrooms were clean. & a local repeat customer dining.
Now lets get to the food! The menu had a wide variety of all our cravings we had, we almost ordered one on everything! Myself I ordered the Garden Specialty pizza, half loaf garlic bread & garlic fries! My friends ordered a couple personal pizzas, salads, meatballs, onion rings, chicken wings & calamari & more garlic fries and garlic cheesy bread! It was a feast & the food and service did not disappoint. The food came out timely and everything was so good we were silent & happy enjoying our food. I can’t stop thinking about the pizza. Really one the best I’ve had , the crust was soft & chewy, the bottom of the pizza was crisp & crunchy, veggies plenty & fresh! The extra garlicky fries were a hit aswell! Can’t wait to visit again & bring my family here! Thankyou for the yummy food &...
Read moreI was very disappointed, not only with the quality of the product, but with the prices of this place. For example: one small six piece chicken and cheese pizza - $29.99!! Now, it wasn't just the price that was off setting - the chicken was processed chicken that one can get in the frozen food section of a grocery store. Full of sodium, preservatives and sugar. The cheese has little to no flavor. The garlic sauce was a bland Alfredo type sauce. The crust - crispy thin.
There is counter service only. You then take your pizza and sit in a completely empty restaurant - both inside and outside. When I drove up to the place the parking lot was empty. The website said it was open. I called and asked are you open? Yes! I asked where the entry was. It was up the ramp, when you get to the top make a right - not straight into the back kitchen. So, Iwalked to the top of the ramp, hung a right, past the horribly smelling kitchen/garbage collection/dish washer area - visible for all to see. Okay, that should have been clue number one - great pizza places are usually fairly patronized during lunch time!
It seemed like the wait person, cook, and manager were all in one. It was around one thirty, I hadn't eaten all day, and I had very little time to go somewhere else. Or I would have. So many more places in Calistoga with far better quality of food, customer...
Read moreHow is this place even in business? The first warning sign was coming up the walkway and seeing garbage and food dumped on the ground. The second warning sign was the clueless and unfriendly lady that took our order. We then had the honor of waiting 45 minutes for our (very simple) food order, and the place wasn't even busy at all. As a bonus, we watched multiple people who ordered AFTER us get their food BEFORE us (we felt SO special!). It's OK, though, we entertained ourselves by admiring the stacks of dirty dishes and leftover food sitting on the nearby tables that were sitting there for at least an hour and a half (the bugs were appreciative!). Very unsanitary practices happening here. When our food did finally arrive, we ate it... we were aware of the risks based on what we had seen so far, but we were starving so we took the chance. Food quality was a solid 2 out of 5 stars. It's safe to say that we won't be back, and we will definitely be warning our friends and family about what we...
