Made an order online and went to pick it up only to find the restaurant just feeling chaotic. There was a long drive through line but only 2 people inside. My order wasn't ready when I got there and they seemed really confused when I told them my name for a mobile order. They told me it was in the drive through and then walked away. I assumed she went to get my order but I stood there for 5 minutes or so before it looked like she remembered me and then put my food together. They also put a sign on the register while I was standing in line saying they weren't taking orders inside the store anymore because the register wasn't working even though I clearly just saw someone standing in front of me get rung up without issue. When she put the sign up I just wanted to let her know I was waiting for a middle l mobile order and she cut me off by saying she knew.... This was before I got a chance to tell anyone I was there for a mobile order so how could you have known. I just think the sign was put up so they didn't have to take anymore orders inside but lied about the register being broken because I saw both being used before and after the sign went up. Not cool to lie guys.
Regarding the food. My fries weren't fresh, my burger was not worth the price they charge at all, and the pumpkin spice frosty was honestly weird tasting and sickenly sweet. I went through the drive through back in June when they had the strawberry frosty which was much better than the pumpkin one. I got quicker more polite service in the short drive through transition than going in for a mobile order. McDonald's is just as average tasting but with better fries and cheaper food. I think I'll stick with them when going for...
Read moreLet me tell you about my recent adventure at Wendy's, a journey that would make Odysseus himself reconsider his fast-food options. The drive-thru line resembled a Disneyland queue for Space Mountain, only minus the thrill and considerably shorter people (though tempers seemed to be flaring higher). After a soul-crushing 17 minutes, I finally reached the speaker, placed my order with the patience of a saint, and anticipated juicy burgers and crispy fries.
Imagine my surprise (or maybe just crushing disappointment) when we pulled away to discover that my son's cheeseburger, specifically requested plain with just cheese, had somehow become a mutant monstrosity loaded with everything but the kitchen sink. Bless his 11-year-old heart, he decided to bravely venture inside to get it fixed. Here's the kicker: there were only THREE people ahead of him. Easy fix, right? Wrong. Apparently, after another 12-minute wait, the concept of remaking a messed-up burger is as foreign to this Wendy's as the idea of friendly customer service. "We won't take it back," they declared, with all the enthusiasm of a soggy napkin.
So there we were, contemplating the existential dilemma of a Franken-burger and the audacity of bad service. In the end, we had to surrender to the tyranny of time and pick up my hangry daughter. Wendy's, you win this round. But here's a word to the wise: If fresh, never frozen beef translates to a 30-minute ordeal for a messed-up order, I'll stick to the frozen kind at home. At least there, I can guarantee I won't be served my patience on...
Read moreThe food is always good, but the latest visits were painfully slow (the latest visit was nearly 30 minutes in the Drive-Thru line). I'm guessing that they're understaffed. I normally check my order when receiving the food through the Drive-Thru, but this last time (around 6pm on January 1st) was the first time having the Wendy's worker (lady at the window) ask me to check my order. Luckily my order was 100% correct, but there have been many times that it's been wrong. Interestingly, I saw the vehicle in front of me hand his order (two bags) back to the workers at the Drive-Thru window, apparently because they gave him the wrong order. I've worked at fast-food restaurants in the past, and it's not that complicated, so I'm not sure why all these fast-food places (except Chick-fil-A) have so many problems. Here's the summary: I love the food at Wendy's, but the service needs to be faster and better. And any customers should carefully check their order as soon as its given to them, BEFORE driving away, because there's a fair chance that the order will be wrong. I'm not trying to criticize; I'm trying to be realistic, and I'm hopeful that this restaurant and others will...
