Copper Country Sweets — Restaurant in Calumet Township

A friend recommended Copper Country Sweets to us when we were desperately seeking a high quality baker to make our daughter's wedding cake. We had never heard of this business, but wanted our daughter's wedding cake to be not only beautiful but also delicious. We went to CCSweets and purchased a sampling of their baking by buying several cupcakes. Each cupcake was delicious; it was easy to tell that these were made from scratch.

As a result, we ordered a large wedding cake (chocolate with chocolate ganache filling), a smaller cake (vanilla with lemon curd filling), and an even smaller cake for our gluten free guests (carrot cake). Our daughter also wanted a "dragon scale" cake in her wedding colors as they planned a fantasy/medieval wedding theme. Erin, the baker, made all three cakes to match and they looked fantastic!

We received numerous compliments from our guests about how delicious the cakes were--all three flavors were a hit as well as the fun dragon scale buttercream frosting. One of our gluten free friends insisted that I try a bite of her piece so I'd be sure to know how good that cake was. The gluten free cake was so delicious that I couldn't tell it was gluten free. Many guests asked who the baker was and asked that I forward their compliments. (Great job, Erin!) Also, they delivered our cake out at McLain's at exactly the time we agreed upon.

We LOVE this place!! We are from the Ann Arbor area and I can tell you there is NO place in the entire county that bakes the deliciousness this young lady does!! It’s is now the highlight of our trips here. We are thrilled to have this amazing bakery here in town and are happy to hear her business is going well. She deserves much success for her talent, passion, and friendliness!! Cheering for her!!

On our annual family vacation we have a birthday celebration for all adults at one time. The cake we ordered from Copper Country Sweets is the best cake we've had in the past two decades of vacations.

The cake was a round 10" two layer cake with buttercream vanilla frosting and chocolate and vanilla filling. Downstate we would have paid twice as much for an inferior product. The decoration was beautiful and the cake was made from scratch which made all the difference. Ordering on line was seamless and we trusted the owner with making the decoration choices.
