During a recent visit to the Iron Skillet in Indiana, I had a mixed but ultimately pleasant dining experience. The standout element of my visit was without a doubt the outstanding service. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and treated with genuine hospitality. Our waitress, Tanya, was especially memorable. Friendly, attentive, and efficient, she made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the meal. Her positive attitude and professionalism truly elevated the entire experience — 10 out of 10 service, without question.
As for the food, it was decent, though not exceptional. The menu offered a range of classic comfort food dishes, and while nothing stood out as extraordinary, it wasn’t disappointing either. The flavors were fair, the portions generous, and everything was served hot and fresh. With a little more attention to seasoning and presentation, the meal could have been significantly better.
Overall, while the food didn’t blow me away, the warmth and friendliness of the service — especially from Tanya — made the visit worthwhile. I would return just for the great service alone, and I’d recommend the Iron Skillet to anyone looking for a welcoming stop with solid food and...
Read moreI ordered the white fish and shrimp combo dinner to go with a side of Mac and cheese. My co-workers who were also there each ordered a club sandwich. I was told they were out of Mac and cheese and I subtituded for onion rings. When we received our order which took awhile we had to leave and our lunch time was over upon finally opening the box I saw only 2 tiny shrimp and a small piece of fish the size of a hockey puck. My side of onion rings was larger than the main course. To say that is a meal is down right wrong.it was more like a side of fish and shrimp with onion rings. The worst part is that it was $13 which included an upcharge for the Mac and cheese. if you visit this restaurant stay away from the seafood items since they seem to really Rob you of what you are paying for . I've also read a few other reviews and the response from management seems to always be the same sorry for what happened we will relay this to the staff and try to do better but never once have I seen where they offered to make up for the horrible experience. Just the same old contact me further to discuss...
Read moreabsolutely ethereal experience I was a food critic by trade and I have eaten at some of the most luxurious and well esteemed restaurants in the world and I have to say the iron skillet made me rethink my whole life's work. I believed that good food was a balance of the chefs ability and the ingredients used however the iron skillet showed that there is such beauty within simplicity, the flavours from the chicken parm brought a tear to my eye as i bit into the succulent and tender chicken and has re lit my own passion for cooking, hence why I am no longer a critic and now own my own restaurant called 'le shush' and what really captured my heart was the ever attentive and compassionate tanya who made my time at the iron skillet that much more of a life changing experience and helped me secure a 100k trade and helped me secure 10 racks off of my travis scotts on stock x, the iron skillet forever changed my life for the better and I wont forget that for the rest of my time on this earth and beyond.
