Motha Trukn Kabobs and BBQ — Restaurant in Calumet Township

Date of Visit: 04/09/2021 Came across this establishment while doing a little shopping in the Gary area... Decided to look up "BBQ near me" on my phone, and this was one of the places that popped up. After viewing other websites of near by BBQ, i decided to go with this one, and I am not disappointed that I did. Had my family with me... My uncle ordered the brisket dinner and I ordered turkey tips with fries. We both agreed that our meat was well seasoned... as we had asked for our sauce to be put on the side.. And the meat was tender... I can say mine was quite moist to be exact... and it can be hard to get turkey to be really moist... So kudos to the man with skills on the grill! The sauce itself had a pleasant taste... with little pineapple chuncks throughout it.

Whenever I am in the area again... and I have a taste for BBQ, I will definitely return, hands down a satisfied customer. You may have to wait longer than your typical food places, but please know this is not your "typical" food place... this is the real deal, at least 3 smokers out back... the wait is well worth it! Before I leave this truck stop to deliver my load I had to remain here and eat my food bc OMG THE CHICKEN WAS FREAKING AMAZING. I kid you not... my husband and I ordered 2 meals each. 1 for now and one for later. First time coming here but once we approached their establishment and smelled the aroma, I knew not to leave without something for later. It's welcoming. Not a fancy Lil spot, but you don't need all that. The food speaks for itself and the customer service was great. The lady at the counter were friendly and the young men working. I appreciate you guys!!! Only small complaint my husband and I had was the baked beans tasted like they were straight out the can. Lol its cool but I was expecting a Lil twist to them. A Lil tang bc everything else was so tasty. But hey idc. You guys still deserve the tip and 5 star review!!!! #Support...

Best kept secret! A gift to those that know and for those that don't- catch up! Never thought kabobs could be a favorite in any way until I tried the skewer succulence of tender chicken and steak chunks seasoned to perfection paired with the perfect taste and texture for grilled vegetables featuring mushrooms, green and red peppers, onions etc all presented on a bed of yellow rice - perfection! My daughters were thrilled with hand cut steak fries married to tender brisket topped with parsley, cheese and sour cream that brought it to life (I'd say perfect if they leveled up to shredded cheese rather than the nacho variety - but still an A-) Much more to try on the menu plus they have breakfast- WHAT! Bravo - truckers do have more fun (eating here at least) Drive-ins, Diners and Dives owe you...
