A staple of Mission Oaks, Burger Barn has been allowing teens to dodge nagging parents for decades. Whether it be to get dad off their back about that summer job or just a place to gain a slight respite from a 40 something divorcee mother who thinks she's one of the girls Burger Barn has been there for all. I honestly don't know what we would do if this icon of Camarillo were to disappear.
Better than fast food but not dazzling, its a good place to go for a grilled burger or sandwhich. They have a good sized menu that includes chicken and tri tip sandwhiches and even some breakfast items. The restaurant appeared dusty and neglected, with flies landing on surfaces. The cashier struggled, causing long waits and impacting food quality. My burger lacked cheese and was poorly made, with wilted lettuce and unseasoned meat. The 'chili' fries were greasy and topped with ground beef instead of chili. When I requested a refund, I received only a replacement order of plain fries. The game machines were expensive and one malfunctioned twice. With a total cost of $28 (not counting the game machines), this experience was disappointing in terms of atmosphere, cleanliness, food quality, and service. I would not recommend...
