Sharky's was recommended to me from a local when I stayed in Camarillo on business, and it was a great recommendation! I'm a big fish taco guy, and I had a hard time narrowing down what to order, so I ended up ordering more food than I could possibly eat. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Taco, the Salmon Taco, and the Achiote Grilled Tofu and Veggies Taco - along with a side of rice and beans, and a Sangria to wash it all down.
The grilled shrimp taco was definitely my favorite, but honestly, I really liked all three - they certainly ranked up there in the top 10% of seafood tacos I've had. The Achiote tofu taco was a little bland compared to the other two, and that was mostly due to the plane tofu. If the tofu had been seasoned and grilled, it would have made a world of difference. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining since it was really good, just offering a suggestion for improvement! All three tacos tasted very fresh due to their fresh ingredients. Also, the presentation was beautiful - they looked truly appetizing and looked just like their marketing photos. The rice and beans were pleasant, although not spectacular. The sangria was just okay although it tasted a bit watered down.
Each dish comes with a small handful of chips as well, and there is a fresh salsa bar with a good assortment of options. I tried a number of the salsas, and my favorite was the guacamole salsa, followed by the spicy red salsa - both of which had robust flavors. I was a little disappointed with the chili verde salsa, which was a touch on the bland side.
The atmosphere was inviting and casual, although the restaurant was a bit small. It had a modern and somewhat chic-Mexican style. Next time I'm in Camarillo, I am definitely...

Initially the cashier was confused what gluten free meant but then someone gave him the allergen book, which was clear and helpful. He was also very helpful as there are a lot of ingredients.
The platter I had was delicious and then the manager came over and asked me if I'd like some tortilla chips, whilst not flully gluten free (they are cooked on the same grill as flour tortillas). He explained if I wasn't celiac I might be able to have them If I wanted. It was kind of him.
*American restaurants, please mark clearly on the outside menu which items are gluten free, so we can decide before we go in and hold up a long queue of people! It...
