Some of the BEST Mexican food you'll find. I live in the high desert (Victorville area) and my wife and I will make a day out of it just to drive up to Yolanda's and eat.
I typically get the Carne Asada plate (sometimes I'll splurge and get the Asada and Shrimp plate). Either one is delicious!! Chips and Salsa are amazing.
Staff is ALWAYS super nice. And very attentive. Never an empty glass waiting on a refill, or an empty plate waiting to be picked up. Everyone there helps each other (at least that's what it seems like).
Wife and I drove up to San Simeon this past weekend for our anniversary. On the way there we took a detour and stopped off at Yolanda's. On the way back, we did the same thing. You just can't beat the deliciousness and price at Yolanda's!!! I swear the staff looked at us like we were crazy. I know they recognized us from the day before. LoL

Read moreI have not been in Yolanda's for quite a while. My friend wanted Mexican food for dinner and so I thought, why not Yolanda's? We went to Yolanda's at about 6:30 on Saturday night, and there was plenty of seating. The restaurant was about half-full. We were promptly seated in a comfortable booth and salsa and fresh chips right out of the fryer arrived within about 30 seconds. The waitress came to ask for our drink order and got me a absolutely delicious Margarita. It was her choice. I recommend it, it has cranberry juice in it. My friend that chose shrimp burritos and I chose tacos al pastor. Our food arrived very promptly sizzling hot and served nicely. Both dishes were delicious. Very large portions very generous portions. The bill for the shrimp burritos plus the margarita plus the tacos al Pastore was $50. Excellent service with an extremely Charming waitress. lost nothing...
Read moreI ordered a Cadillac Margarita and was very disappointed. The drink tasted like only sweet and sour mix, no tequila at all. If it wasn't for watching the waiter throw the Grand Marnier in it, I would have thought it was a virgin drink.
I then tried the cold chips and salsa. They also offer bean dip. Neither of these items were what I expected from a Mexican food restaurant.
Finally, I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas Veracruz -- boy, just went along with everything else. They were served cold and had no taste at all. I ended up giving my dish to my neighbor and she took it home.
Bad experience all around!
That being said, I have been to both the Ventura (Main St. location) and Oxnard Yolanda's Restaurants and both of those locations are very good. The Ventura location by the Avenue is just as bad as the...
