ā 1-Star Review: For Entitled Parents Who Think a Coffee Shop is Their Daycare
Let me make something crystal clear for those who clearly missed the memo: this is a coffee shop ā not a daycare, not a playground, not your living room, and definitely not your childās personal jungle gym. Yes, there are board games at the tables. No, that does not mean youāre invited to let your kids run wild like untrained zoo animals. Those games are there to entertain ā quietly ā while parents sip a coffee or enjoy a gelato like civilized adults. That doesnāt give you a free pass to check out of parenting and treat the space like Chuck E. Cheese. Today, a woman walked in with her 6-year-old who immediately charged toward the glass like a banshee, tried to climb over our chairs, attempted to grab our tea, and almost stepped on our laptops ā including three MacBooks and one very expensive laptop we needed for today meeting! When we kindly asked the mother to take control of her child (aka do her job), she looked at us like we were homeless squatters and had the audacity to say, āThereās more space at the library if you donāt want to be bothered by kids.ā
Excuse me? No, maāam. This isnāt about ākids.ā Itās about respect, parenting, and basic human decency. Donāt gaslight paying customers who are trying to work in peace. Weāre not here for your bratās meltdown or your attitude. The worst part? She acted like we were the problem ā like adults who came to a coffee shop to work quietly were somehow intruding on her right to let her child scream and scribble on walls.
ššš°š¬šš„šš¬š”: Youāre not entitled to disrupt a shared public space just because you decided to reproduce.
Coffee shops are meant for relaxing, working, and respectful socializing ā not babysitting entitled strangersā kids. So unless you plan on parenting, maybe take your chaos elsewhere. There are parks and playgrounds for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring these challenging times of the Coronavirus, I wanted to support more local businesses. Tifa was one place I had sampled in the past when I went to "A Taste of Camarillo" (an annual fundraiser hosted by the Meadowlark Service League), but had not previously visited its physical location in Camarillo...until back on May 1, 2020. (My schedule's been busy, so I haven't had a chance to write this thorough review until today.)
I purchased the $10 one-pint option, where you can select up to 3 flavors of gelato. I selected strawberry balsamic, dark chocolate, and cookie butter. Each flavor was distinctly refreshing in its own way, but what is common to each flavor is a smooth texture and just the right amount of sweetness without going over the top.
The customer service I received was very pleasant. I initially called the location to put in my order ahead of time and ensure that the flavors were in stock. Even though when I got there and stood in line, the server ensured that I didn't have to wait too long (somewhere between 5-10 minutes) to get my phoned-in order.
One of these days, I plan to make another visit to try out more of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first time visiting this cafe by referral from a friend. The location is clean, pleasant, bright, airy, and quaint! Definitely much more pleasant than starbucks or coffee bean... An impressive assortment of chocolates, pastries, gelatos, and coffees. I had a latte and chocolate chip cookie which are definitely on a different level than the places mentioned above. Last and most important...the service. Michael helped me and was super accommodating and pleasant. While i was looking through the case at pastries, another patron accidentally handed Michael a $20 bill instead of a $5 bill to pay for a gelato (under $5) and said thank you and turned to leave. Instead of just keeping the $20, Michael called to the customer and alerted him to the mistake. The customer was made aware he accidentally gave Michael a $20 instead of $5 and gratefully accepted the change. What integrity! Michaelās honesty and integrity are exemplary....and he makes a fantastic latte to boot! Overall a superb experience...they have my business from now...
