WARNING TO ANYONE WITH A SEAFOOD ALLERGY (fish/ shellfish) OR ANY OTHER SEVERE ALLERGY OR DIETARY NEED

On August 2nd 2024 around 2:00 pm my sister and I were visiting the town this restaurant is in and decided to give it a try. I have a severe allergy to seafood but have never had an issue with Mexican food. We walked in to a mostly empty restaurant and immediately the woman serving had an attitude. She brought out salsa, chips, and beans. Before eating any I let her know I have a severe seafood allergy and wanted to know if I was ok with everything and if there was any fish in the sauces etc. She again had an attitude and said no but didn't even do what most servers are trained to do which is double check with the chef. It sent off alarm bells in my gut which I should have listened to but I’ve never had a reaction to chips and salsa. I decided to forgo getting a main plate due to not trusting the waitress and decided I would munch on the chips while my sister ate.

Two chips in I started to cough and could feel my throat itching. I waited about 5 minutes to see if my symptoms progressed and they did. I had a thought that maybe the chips are fried here (not used to that) and in the same oil as seafood. I went back up to the waitress who was talking with some guy and said “I’m sorry to bother you again but do you fry the chips with any seafood?” And she goes “Yes shrimp.” Panic started to set in as I knew I had to act quickly to get to some kind of medical help in a new town I don’t know. I went back to tell my sister who jumped into action and told the woman we had to go to get to a hospital. The woman acted irritated almost as if she wanted us to still pay for food my sister hadn’t even gotten yet and when my sister tried to explain this is an emergency she acted confused. As we ran out she yelled “It was Shrimp!”

I ended up having to administer an epi in the car, rushed to an urgent care then an ambulance then to the emergency hospital where I spent several hours.

Our day was waisted and my life was put in danger by this negligent restaurant. Again, if you have a severe allergy or any dietary restriction I would highly caution you eating here. At the other location in Vancouver there are reviews from people who are vegetarian not having their dietary needs respected so I would just write this off as an unsafe...

we are new to the area and each Friday we have been trying out takeout from different restaurants in the Camas/Washougal area. we recently tried out Los Jalapenos and were really bummed after we brought it home and started eating. We both got the combo 6 which included a taco, tamale and enchilada. We both got chicken on all three items. The taco was so soggy you couldn't pick it up and we had to eat it with a fork, although I just didn't really even end up eating it because it was tasteless, soggy and overall gross. The tamale was the best of the three but I still wouldn't call it a good tamale. The outer corn part was ridiculously thick and there was barely any meat inside and when I did cut in to it they had given me beef and not the chicken I ordered. I stay away from red meat so I was super bummed that the best item on my plate was something I really didn't want to eat. Lastly was the enchilada. It was also soggy and tasteless. The refried beans were quite tasteless as well, the rice was okay, like it was the only item they bothered to season. The chips were cold and not salted and rather tasteless as well and the salsa was watered down tomato run off with onion and cilantro chunks. Honestly, taco bell tastes 100 times better than this restaurant. Sure, the portions are large but who wants large portions of the blandest Mexican food I have ever encountered in my life?! We will definitely steer clear of Los Jalapenos...

Was very disappointed in this place. Everything felt super old and dated. It was cold and uninviting. Food was not great. Very plain. Could have gotten a better tasting meal at a food truck. The prices were absolutely crazy!! I understand in this day and age with inflation so high but $20+ per plate!?! My shrimp ranchos was not good. The shrimp were very over cooked and the sauce was just a bunch of over cooked carrots. The rice had zero flavor and the beans tasted like they were out of a can. My husband had a burrito and it was also just okay. His burrito was also $20. Plus I asked for a small side of sour cream, it came to $3.50. I could have gotten an entire tub of sour cream for that price. But the most disappointing part was our dessert. We had decided to go to this restaurant based on the google pictures of the flan. In the original posted picture it came out with whipped cream and all done up for $6.50. What we got was a plain flan just thrown on a plate for $8+ Our server was very nice so I will give my review two stars, we will definitely never be back. Prices were outrageous for what you got. I hate to leave such a negative review for a small business, but I was just so disappointed with the overall meal and the prices. For a burrito and shrimp ranchos with no drinks and a shared dessert was $65 after tax and tip. Kind of a lot of money for the quality of the food and atmosphere of...

We stopped here for lunch one Saturday last month after doing some shopping on the main street. It was not crowded, so we got a table right away. Our server was very friendly but spoke mostly Spanish. I was a little concerned because I don't speak any Spanish and barely understand a few words, but the language barrier did not affect our order. The food was really good, and I especially loved the salsa they put out with the chips when we arrived. It tasted fresh and had unique flavors. We ordered queso dip to have with the chips, too, and it was yummy. Tough to say if it's overpriced because with inflation as it is right now, everything seems overpriced. That having been said, I didn't think it was overpriced, especially for being in downtown Camas. My fajitas were around $20, and my husband's burrito was $15, before tax and tip. The atmosphere is very casual yet intimate because it is small with two main rooms.

The waiter was attentive and quick to assist, the food was of good quality (although the shredded chicken got lost in my companion's nachos, which was the only complaint either of us had), and they had chile peppers on the fabric of their booth seats. The music and decor set the mood. I had a pork tamal and chicken enchilada combo with beans and rice, and a chicken quesadilla for an appetizer (and to take home for snacking later), and their queso dip was well seasoned and just ever so slightly spicy, and I loved it. Overall, will go back. I want to try their fried ice cream next! (Also to-go margaritas, specifically mango, sounded interesting, but I was driving and didn't know when we'd get home, so opted out this time, but may try it in the future)
