Salud Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Lounge — Restaurant in Camden

This is one of the best Tex-Mex and Tequila Bars I have been too! The food was excellent. I was very disappointed in the seating we received, it was right next to the gate (aka door) and so everyone pretty much walked right by us to be seated. So people waiting had to go past us. The food was cooked perfectly and the server was great. He made it a point to check on us at the perfect times. The host was not someone really who should be greeting folks. She made it a point to tell us since we did not have a reservation that the wait would be at least an hour. I also wanted some information on the extra room they have for parties, intending to bring more business to the restaurant, but I never got any response from her. I guess I need to make a reservattion for next time because I want to go back and have some more of that great food they have.

Been here several times and we enjoy the food every time . First time we had to wait because we didn’t call ahead with a reservation and had to sit at the table right by the gate (food was still great). Second time we sat with friends at a 5 top, but we were 6 people 😐. This time we had a reservation and had the perfect table under the mezzanine.

I highly recommend the food, so far I’ve had Brochetas Bravas (spicy steak on a kabob), Chicken Nachos, Chicken Street Tacos and the Burrito Frito.

The also have an excellent selection of bottled beer and very good tequila selection. My only wish is more Mexican draft beer!

My wife and I have been to Salud many times and it never disappoints, the food is always top notch.. whether it's the quesadillas, or the Salud tacos, or their amazing salsa, or their queso with chorizo... I haven't had anything that was even average at Salud.

The only gripe I have about this visit is that I called ahead to inform them that we would be a little late to our reservation because there was an accident on the highway and there was nothing we could do. The hostess informed me that our table was also reserved for 8, and I clarified that I didn't think we'd be THAT late (our rez was for 6:30, we arrived at 6:50).

Upon arrival, the hostess then proceeded to remind us of the 8 o clock reservation, again. Perhaps this wasn't the same hostess that answered the phone, I'm not sure. After we were sat at our table though, our waitress greets us and says, "I heard you are in a hurry?" To which I replied no, and proceeded to tell her this whole story.

Overall, I can't NOT give Salud 5 stars... Most everything is just top notch. However, I was disappointed in the tact used by the staff. The hostess really made me and my wife feel as though we weren't super "welcome".

Just a small issue, nothing major. This place...

Absolutely rude staff (at least the hostess). We tried to eat here early Sat night. Place was empty but we had no reservation - they claimed 100% reserved (bad policy), we were nice and said we are happy to wait the estimated 45 minutes. To which the hostess then responded I cannot guarantee 45 minutes. We said whatever, then she changed that to can't guarantee a seat at all. To which I replied are you just asking us to leave? She shrugged her shoulders. We were all dressed nicely and are middle age business people. One couple in our small party had a small child, but she was well behaved and not making a sound. So not sure what the issue was but the hostess was clearly not equipped to handle people. So we took our $500 and went next door (we like top shelf food and drinks....) to Sam Kendalls - were seated without delay and treated to wonderful food and excellent service. So - I would recommend avoiding Salud, unless you like being trated sourly and take my business right next door to Sam Kendalls! I am a small business owner and I do not believe a business model such as Salud should be rewarded with hard earned salary no matter how good...
