Chuckwagon Cafe — Restaurant in Camdenton

Visited this weekend and was disappointed in the AYCE breakfast buffet. You are better off ordering off the menu and saving yourself many thousand milligrams of salt. The servers are all very nice, the joint is small, but cute and very clean. But that food on the buffet....watch out! We must have come in between the times the food is replenished as the eggs were cold and the french toast was soggy and cool. There is a ton of bacon, sausage links, corned beef hash and restaurant supply, cubed potatoes and grits, but again, salty as heck! I saw the owner/chef come out between the waves of people with two little bowls to refill food from the buffet that looks that it came out to someone who ordered off the menu. When I order off the menu, I want everything I've ordered to be fresh, not dished up from the buffet. There is a small dessert and fruit bar, but again, all of it very restaurant supply. I have had their pork tenderloin there and it was decent but not enough to make us come back. ps. We were on vacation and stopped in for lunch at this little gem. The food and service were great! Will definitely stop here again.

The above review was from fall of 2019. We stopped in this restaurant again today (9/2/2020) and the food was still awesome! The waitresses were so friendly and accommodating. I asked if they had chocolate milkshakes and the waitress said they didn't have them anymore. Then she said "well, we have ice cream and chocolate syrup, and I can fix it in the blender." My grandson and I each got one and they were DELICIOUS! The food was excellent. My BLT was perfect and the cheeseburgers were superb. We got some fried pies to go...they were SO GOOD! We went Sunday afternoon to miss their normal rush hours and we were very happy with Everything! The great service and extensive classic diner menu includes All Day Breakfast and A yummy looking Breakfast Buffet(runs till 1p). I ordered the Fish Filet Dinner and it was good, along with Real Fresh Cut FF’s!!! But Beckie ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Dinner and she’s Still talking about it! According to her, it’s in the Top 3 she has EVER Had! Perfectly tender, seasoned and fried with Real mashed potatoes and excellent “white Grandma Gravy”!!!! Then add on the Super Fabulous Cherry Fried Pie and, like I said....she’s still talking about! Memories of Bonnie’s Fried Pie Heaven abound! Y’all Need to Go there 😍 You Will Not Be Sorry! We will be heading back next weekend if y’all want to meet us there!?!?!...
