Capital Kabob House — Restaurant in Cameron Park

I’m shocked this place has so many good reviews! When we arrived there were only a few tables occupied but it took 10 mins for the waiter (the only person waiting tables which seemed ok with how empty it was) to get our menus to us. Service was very slow and he seemed very uninterested in doing the job. Food was not great either. Salad was just a basic mix of greens with over ripe tomatoes and an unimpressive vinegar based dressing. The rice was bland basmati and really didn’t add anything to the meal. The meats were ok however and seasoning was sufficient but every meat was dry. The sides were had were spinach and garbanzo beans. The spinach was previously frozen and tasted like it with no seasoning worth mentioning. The texture was so gross. This is a little gem tucked into a small shopping center next to a creek on White Rock Road below Target. This unexpected place is surprising with crystal chandeliers, cloth napkins, and a comfortable dining room with wood crown molding. The menu offerings are varied and diverse. We have had the eggplant, Chicken Kebob, Kofta Kebob, and lamb kebob. All of the entres we've ordered have been well seasoned and prepared perfectly. I plan on ordering one of the dumpling dishes next time. We prefer mediterranean food because it is healthy. Their Greek Salad is one of the best we've ever had. The food portions are generous enough for sharing if you desire. We've been to this place numerous times, and it is always consistent and worth coming back...

This place was recommended by some good friends, so we decided to try takeout first. We were impressed, so on our next visit, we decided to dine in for dinner. The service was quick, and the food tasted homemade, with delicious flavors that made it feel like a comforting, home-cooked meal.
