So overall this is a nice place to go. We sat outside and they had live music. TBH it was one guy and he played and sang well, but it was not a band. It was a cool night and the outside was very nice with decent views. The only down side to outside was the loud car noises being right next to a high speed busy road.
Food: burgers smelled and tasted great. I personally had the burger that had brie cheese and bacon jam, it was very good. I ordered it medium and it did have some pink. The char on the outside was great. Flavors were great with a good meat to bun ratio. The bacon jam provided a little bacon flavor with a tiny bit of sweetness. That balanced the nutty slightly bitter brie out perfectly. I had a side salad which was giant pieces of lettuce and two slices of cucumber and tomato. Burger was great, side salad was meh at best. Everyone else had fries including one order of garlic fries, the fries were cooked great. Golden, crispy, soft in the middle and no soggyness .
All burgers are 1/2 pound according to their menu. They did not look like half pound burgers but they were plenty big. Service was very polite and nice, but very slow. Pricing was a little high but not too bad given the location of EDH. Burgers were in the $16-$20 range. Small menu outside of burgers. My son had the vegetable patty and said it was very good and he would order again.
If service was faster and the burgers were $1-$2 cheaper, would have...
Read moreWe didn’t have a very good experience here a few months back, but we decided to give it another shot. The hostess was very sweet and took us to our table right away. The server was rather rude and lacked any kind of personality. There were maybe two or three tables and we felt rushed the entire time. I love someone who prebusses, but don’t ask us three times if you can take our plate that we are actively eating off of. It made us feel even more rushed. Especially because as we finished using something, we pushed it to the side where we weren’t sitting. Two appetizers, two burgers, an awful half filled (even with the ice) cocktail, and a soda was $80 before tip. The food wasn’t the worst, but certainly was disappointing for a place that is called a “burger bar” We were putting our food in to-go containers and my boyfriend put down some cash and said “babe, can you please look at this and see what we should tip?” and before he could even move his hand away she was grabbing it saying “do you need change?” For a Saturday and it being so slow, I don’t see the point in rushing us, or having an attitude. However, I guess it makes sense when you have mediocre food and a...
Read moreLet me start with first saying Customer Service is 5/5! Employees are kind, friendly, welcoming, and even helpful when you leave something behind! Employees are not the problem, it's the food that leaves much to be desired.
I thought when I had the fried avocado with that sauce, (don't know why this menu on Google is severely outdated) it was gonna be delicious, even if there was some raw avocado. Then came the main course, a Western Burger with garlic fries. The fries taste like they were packed frozen and the garlic wasn't at all impressive. The burger now, I requested medium well and I could see that my burger was overcooked. Not only that, I could taste only the sauce which was very spicy, but not the patty. No seasoning, not even salt, it was just cooked to hell ground beef. Then I decide to order the dessert, a banana cake of sorts, I can't remember the name. I could taste it was refrigerated, which made the cake taste grainy and cold. I believe you had a name if you have this 4 star rating, but maybe you need to reevaluate your recipes and techniques if you ever hope to get people to come to El Dorado Hills...
