vI had my bridal shower at Lisa's Tea Treasures for around 16 people. We had our private room & overall, the staff was very nice. I have never been to this tea house before my bridal shower, but I have been to other tea houses in California. I have to say I was a little underwhelmed, unfortunately. We picked the top package with them and thought it was going to be a very special day. To start, they brought out three tea pots for 16 people and only refilled them with the starting teas we did not have any additional options. I only saw the staff when they were switching out plates and asked us to ring bells if we needed them. Unfortunately, I nor anyone in my party felt comfortable ringing a loud bell in front of the entire party to get their attention and would have rather they just checked in with us. I thought that they would bring out the food on tea towers like traditional tea would but they were pre-platted giving us limited options. The sandwiches were dry and lacked flavor, not to mention they had nuts in them, and were served without telling anyone, which is surprising to me as it is a top allergens. Also, with the dessert's we thought we were going to get multiple options but only got chocolate mouse with a macaroon which I was not a fan of. Around halfway through the party, I had so much sediment in the bottom of my teacup, that I could no longer use it and stopped drinking and, since I did not feel comfortable ringing the bell, I did not get a new one. I could go on and on, but overall for the price we paid for a party this large, I was super disappointed and wish they would have done a little more. I think a little more attention and customization would have lead to a much better experience. I am sure that this is partly my fault for not doing more research but for the top tea house in San Jose, I...
Read moreI had an amazing time at Lisa's Tea Treasures. We walked in as we decided to have an afternoon tea so that my best friend and I could catch up. I hadn't seen her in a while so we decided to do a ladies' day. We were greeted graciously by the staff and was very pleasant to take us without any reservation.
As soon as I walked into the tearoom, I felt this calming ambiance. It goes to say that the staff was all warm-hearted and welcoming.
We selected the Duchess Delight from the menu. It consists of the following.
Duchess Delight Menu Selection
Fresh scone with Devonshire Cream & Preserve Savory Quiche-choice of bacon & onion or spinach & tomato.
Tea Sandwiches: Artichoke Parmesan, Sundried Tomato & Goat Cheese, and cucumber & mint
Dessert: Pistachio Cream Cheesecake& Mini Trio
Tea Selection: My Lady's Respite (Black Tea) & Moroccan Mint Tea (Green Tea)
My favorite was the lemon curd. You must not leave without it. I bought a small jar.
The tea sandwiches are tasty. My favorite is the one with goat cheese. You will not taste that pungent goat cheese taste as they meticulously mixed their spread where it harmoniously blended with the herbs and spices, I could eat more, but I was a lady for a day.
We closed it out with desserts. We each have a pistachio cheesecake and the mini trio. The BEST part, our tea, was still hot after two hours. They have this tea pot sleeve, and it definitely served its purpose.
On our way out, we spent a few minutes in the gift shop and bought a few niknaks. I got a tea pot sleeve that kept my tea hot for more than two hours, a sifter, lemon curd, and my Moroccan Full Tea Leaves, which I had while I was there.
You have a two hours limit, but that felt like forever because you are not being chased to leave.
If there is 10 stars, I'd give this place...
Read moreSuper cute! my 70 year old grandmothers and 11 year old niece enjoyed the experience equally. There was much more food than we expected, a proper lunch and everything was very cute and tasty. We loved the kitch decor and little gift shop and felt the service was perfect. Everything was sparkling clean and we were pleased with the options- even our picky eater had to take half of her dessert home in a box because she enjoyed her lunch so much.
I'd like to add that some of the complaints I'm seeing in here are just silly. Yes it's a little pricey, you're coming to a fancy tea shop not a diner. Half of the meal is desserts and the other is carbs, of course it's not going to be super diabetic friendly. There is a set menu, published on the website, so if you have dietary restrictions that would require you to deviate from that menu you need to call ahead. If you dislike your tea selection they will bring you another but it's brewed by the pot so you're not going to have a different flavor every time you finish a cup, as is usual for a tea service. If you're asking for things that the restaurant does not serve, of course the server is going to have to spend some time telling you that you can't have those things. Finally, I don't think it's fair to take points off because you and your guests were too shy to ring a bell for service in front of each other- if anyone had bothered to ask, the server girl would have made time to check on you! My family loved that we were left to chat and enjoy without being constantly...
