Visited here on a weekday morning and it was easy to find parking and no line for service. Place is BIG (by other Bay Area coffee shops save for Equator in SF), and plenty of seating was available (probably 15 customers at the time).
I ordered their single origin espresso, which was served on a nice wooden tray including a spoon to stir and sparkling water to cleanse palate. Very tasty, although slightly too fruity for my preference with espresso. I also had a pour over of their Kenyan single origin, and unfortunately it was not great. There was a strong vegetal flavor that wasn't enjoyable - whether that was the roast (somewhat doubtful due to using the highly reputable Counter Culture's beans) or the brew, I'm not sure. The finish was good, clean and wet, and the mug had a lovely big handle. Will have to try another pour over in the future as their drip that my friend had was very good, and the espresso was also of a high standard.
My only other complaint was that it was too quiet - it felt like we had to whisper or we'd be the crazy loud obnoxious ones. Just about everybody else there was working, so there wasn't much general conversational noise, but the music was also very low. Not a big deal, and would be...
Read moreThe Everything Cheese Waffle at Living Room is absolutely incredible! 🧇🧀 The outer layer is perfectly crispy, while the inside is warm, ooey-gooey, and reminiscent of Brazilian cheese bread, but elevated with the savory kick of everything bagel seasoning. A must-try!
I ordered The Grinch, a matcha latte with vanilla and peppermint, and it was pure comfort in a cup. 🍵❄️ Each sip felt like a warm hug on a chilly day. The drink strikes a perfect balance—not too sweet—with a creamy foam on top that adds just the right touch of sweetness to complement the slightly bitter, refreshing peppermint matcha. A truly delightful combination!
My girlfriend opted for the Macchiato, and it delivered the strong espresso shot she needed to shake off the midday slump. ☕⚡ Bold, rich, and energizing—exactly what you want from a great coffee.
The ambiance at Living Room is equally impressive. 🛋️🔥 It’s cozy and inviting, with a living room-style setup featuring comfy couches and a charming fireplace simulator.
If you’re a fan of delicious matcha, quality coffee, and welcoming vibes, Living Room is definitely a spot worth visiting. Highly...
Read moreI found the experience here disappointing.
WiFi: the WiFi doesn’t really work. It keeps disconnecting and I had to resort to using my own hotspot. If the employees were more friendly I would have asked about it, but they didn’t have an open and friendly vibe towards customers. Employees: the employees were distant and seemed to be in a hurry to get my order done with. In a boutique coffee shop, I expect an experience of friendliness. They seemed more interested in talking to each other than engaging with customers.
Drinks: I decided to try the loose leaf tea. I assumed with the price, almost $6, it would be a small pot with a mug. Nope. Just a mug with metallic tasting tea. Go for the coffee.
Ambience: It kind of feels like a hospital cafeteria, with an institutional feel with uniform chairs and tables evenly spaced throughout the room. There is a sofa area and electric fireplace and some other lounge chairs.
Parking was easy, finding a seat and table was easy. So those are...
