First of all, when you walk in at 8:20 you shouldn't be treated like they close at 8. The hours of operation say open until 9. I could care less if that messes with those employees expectations of getting done early. They offer food until 9, they should treat you the same at 8:55 as they do at 6. Second, our server brought our drinks and then informed us that she had an "emergency" and had to go. Another server was to take over for her. That would have been fine except a half hour later I had to go back up front and ask if we were supposed to ring up our food on our own. They were annoyed that I was bothering them because they were trying to get done as soon as possible. Drinks from the bar were awful. My 80 year old mother ordered the fillet and they had used so much meat tenderizer it disintegrated once you started to chew and tasted freezer burned. I honestly believe it was a sirloin, not a fillet. It had fat down one side that was tough and just plain nasty. I could go on and on. Dirty bathrooms. Unbussed tables. Silver ware came post food. And I had to ask for it. No refills on drinks. You would think that with there only being a few restaurants in town in a small town that they would put there good foot forward. Not sure how long this place has been open but I can't imagine they will be in business the next time we visit. Doesn't matter though. We will eat at Hardee's before we use their services again. It wasn't so much a bad experience but comical entertainment. Think the movie "waiting" except the staff was way more mature In the movie. Obviously we won't be giving them the opportunity to spend our money again. You don't get a second chance when the only redeemable experience was that they had a good side salad . And who puts tenderizer on a fillet mignon? Lol. High school kids being led by a someone who probably didn't graduate from high school themselves. If you are looking to go there just light your money on fire....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently dined at a local establishment, and overall, my experience at Coltonās was satisfactory. The fried pickles were coated in a seasoned breading, providing a delightful crunch. The golden crisp texture was a delight to bite into, and the accompanying spicy ranch dressing added a flavorful kick. It was a solid appetizer choice.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for Colton's "Loaded" Chicken. The grilled chicken breast was tender, and the sautƩed mushrooms, Applewood smoked bacon, and green onions provided a burst of flavors. The blend of cheeses added a creamy element that complemented the dish well. However, I felt that the chicken itself lacked a bit of seasoning and could have benefited from a bolder flavor profile.
I also tried the Grilled Pork Chop, which was cooked to a satisfactory level. The onion tanglers on top provided a nice crunch, and the raspberry chipotle sauce added a tangy and sweet note. It was a decent combination, although I would have appreciated a more pronounced smoky flavor from the grill.
The Mesquite Grilled Chicken, served on a bed of rice pilaf, was enjoyable. The boneless chicken breast had a pleasant charred taste from the mesquite grilling, and the rice pilaf provided a comforting base. It was a simple and satisfying dish.
Finally, I tried the 6oz Sirloin seasoned with Colton's spices. While the sirloin was cooked to the requested temperature, the seasoning was a bit underwhelming. It lacked the robustness I was expecting, leaving me wanting more in terms of flavor.
Overall, Coltonās offered a decent dining experience. The Fried Pickles and the Loaded Chicken were the highlights of the meal, showcasing good flavors and textures. However, there is room for improvement in terms of seasoning and flavor profiles. With some adjustments, this restaurant has the potential to elevate its offerings and provide an even more enjoyable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went at 8:30 @ night and ordered a T-bone steak dinner. Waiter was awesome always checking to see if I needed anything. My sides were a sweet potato and garden salad. Salad was great, sweet potato arrived with brown sugar on it. I ordered it with butter only so it went back and was replaced, no big deal. I ate the salad and sweet potato and waited for my T-bone steak, it was supposed to be 18 oz. but it was very thin, unlikely true 18 oz.! I ordered my steak medium which should be pink inside. I cut into it and it was BLOODY ! I sent it back and they cooked it more and returned it. I cut into it again and still raw inside. Sent it back again and they cooked it AGAIN, I cut into it and still the same, I didn't really want it after 3 time on the grill, so they said they would cook me a new one. So I waited and it took a while and they finally brought it out. I cut into it and it was RAW inside. I then asked for the manager and told him that I had never been to a steak house that didn't know how to cook a T-bone steak medium. He looked at my steak and apologized and said he didn't know what had happened. I then asked him if the grill had been shut off and cooled or what. He then hesitated before answering and then told me it was a wood-fired grill and that they didn't want to restore it that time of night! I was livid! I waited all of that time for my steak and it was NEVER GOING TO COOK ON A GRILL THAT WAS COOLING!He apologized and then only gave me half off! That dinner should have been free after all of that! They lost my business for sure! WHAT A JOKE...
