I’ve really wanted to give this place a chance. New to the area. Great bar food, nice outside seating, okay drinks, but the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced so far in canby. The people are not friendly, and do not understand common courtesy to say hello when you walk in the door. When approaching the front, it takes a solid 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge you or even a “we will be right with you”.
Then when speaking to them on the phone to place a pick up order, you’re placed on hold, they set the phone on the counter no mute, then randomly the call “disconnects” and then when you try to call back the line is “busy” but never does that otherwise because they have a voice mail set up when you’re waiting for too long. Lol Makes it super obvious that they must just be leaving the line off the hook or something on purpose. Extremely unprofessional.
I would never make a bad review over one time. This has happened to my wife and I at least 7 plus times. Canby doesn’t have many places to eat so our options are finite. Lol I tip fairly well each time (over 20 percent) hoping they’ll recognize me and give me better customer service, but that has failed as well. I will say that when you dine in, the waitresses/waiters are much better at...
Read morePatrons of the Hare for 14 years now. Found when moved to Canby. Impressed from the very first visit. Frequented easily 2-3 times a month. Hadn't visited in about 5-6 months. Last evening we went. Disappointment is not what was even getting g up to achieve. The upholstery in the booths was an embarrassment literally rips and padding coming out 12 to 15 inches long. Interior has been rearranged. Not of issue but the furniture is foul. The service was OK. Not a single recognizable face in the crew. I used to love the fish and chips. Used to be fresh fish. This time clearly frozen fish over cooked in an oil bath. The Rubin my other half got was cold and cheese not melted. Looked good but not to anywhere close the standard we had over the years come accustomed to. Sad it is looking g so much run down and u kept now. It was a Canby staple. Just not a visit this time that makes me want to go back again. Sadly the Hare isn't any better than Dennys anymore. Good part is there are many other places to go to now. The family atmosphere is gone and the food quality hav fallen. Bummer. Used to...
Read moreI ate here a few years ago and was disappointed, but decided today I'd give it another try. I ordered Surf n Turf and Black and Bleu to go. When I got home I started opening everything. I was a bit disappointed when I saw I got 2 broccoli and cheddar soups and not one broccoli and one potato and bacon like I asked for, but I figured no biggy. I opened my box for surf and turf. I asked for no asparagus, sub potato, but there was no extra potato and asparagus which I don't like...Again I was going to let it slide. Then when I cut into my steak that I asked for medium rare, it was more medium to medium well and quite charred. I took a few bites and it was bland and all I tasted was burnt, so I got steak sauce which I never do. It still didn't mask the burnt taste in my mouth. I gave my second chance but will not be returning as I was so excited for a good steak, but got a shriveled burnt piece of meat:// The staff was nice when I went in and the prawns were good, but when I couldn't eat the steak or asparagus, I spent $23 to still be hungry and fill up...
