We decided to try the new restaurant attached to Busch's Canton on a Friday night at 645pm. There were 3 other tables sat/finishing up when we arrived. We were sat, and who we assumed was the hostess brought us waters. We waited for a period of time for a server to greet us. No one did. We waited longer and finally someone came and took drink orders but then said that someone else would be by to get our meal order. In the meantime the place cleared out and a party of 6 arrived. We still hadn't met our waitress. This table appeared to be the owner/family friend/something. Our order was taken and we were promised bread/oil. The chef had come out from the kitchen and was talking to the party of 6 table and then got a glass of wine and sat down with them. We still didn't have bread. That table was served a whole pizza, a giant salad and 2 other plates while were still waited on bread. Our drinks were now empty and 2 other tables had arrived. One young man saw on my face that things were not going as planned and I mentioned that we had been waiting on everything as that table was getting served over and over again. Our appetizer finally came out 2 minutes prior to our pizza , which was burnt on the bottom. The other table who arrived approx 10 min after us recurved their food before us as well. Another gentleman came over, never introduced himself (we assumed manager) and asked how we were doing and said that he was informed of my comment. He said that table had ordered their food ahead of time??? So they ordered and then arrived to eat it there? Had the chef, and at times, up to 3 staff talking to them? He offered a free dessert. Sure, but that doesn't take away from the dismal service we were getting. But then, you guessed it, we waited. We paid and still waited on that free dessert. When I stood and put my jacket on , he came over and said, "I asked for that dessert, Ill just get it to go". We were never informed as to why there was a wait. So we had poor service from literally 5 different people, watched the chef come out and drink wine with the table (3 times), watched our waitress also be the bartender/expo/answer 2 phone calls as she was walking by our table/ and serve all the tables. She was busting her butt and I feel terrible at the lack of support given to her. We will not be back and for what it's worth, I have never written a review about a restaurant before. This was such an odd experience and even after making it known that things were not going well, nothing changed. I was compelled to say what happened and hope that they can improve on things since Canton needs more non change...
Read moreMy wife and I went to this restaurant excited to find an organic place to eat. When we came in we were greeted by a kind gentleman that sat us and eventually took our order. The menu made my mouth water thinking about everything that they had on there. Some classics and some with a twist. My wife ordered the veggie lasagna and I ordered the Michigan mushroom ravioli. At this point we had been pretty happy and excited they brought out free bread and olive oil and the service was nice. My wifeâs food came out first and thatâs when we became disappointed. The lasagna looked like it had been either reheated multiple times, over cooked, or left under a heat lamp for way too long. It had some flavors that would have been good at some point. My food was good, I really didnât have much to complain about with mine other than the price. With my meal I got a plate of ravioli for $17 no side salad or soup to go with it. If it was indeed all organic I wouldnât complain much about the price but only a couple of things on the menu were listed as organic so I have no idea if my meal was organic or not. My wifeâs meal was $16 for a fairly nice sized corner piece of lasagna, but the fact that it was over cooked and burnt on most of the sides and bottoms didnât make it worth it at all. After my wife ate what she could of it she explained to me that it just wasnât good at all. So I tried it and I agreed. I did end up saying something to the waiter and he did offer to take something off the bill. I declined because she had eaten most of it. He offered to at least pass on what we had talked about to the cook staff and I agreed to that. We paid for our food and decided to use the restroom before we headed out. Next to the restroom they were growing what looked like different herbs, that they had mentioned in their advertisement that they used on their food. The plants were wilted and they were just dirty looking. It kind of made our stomach turn looking at them and wondering if they served us those on our meal. While we were standing there we also got a glimpse into the kitchen area and it was not very clean. Probably not going to go back there again. The place seemed like it was probably great once but had fallen apart at some point. I hope it gets turned around because it seems like it could have...
Read moreWe spent 1.5 hours waiting for food, the restaurant was completely understaffed, and we were very patient. Our waitress was nice, but the situation imposed on her from management at the restaurant was too overwhelming for her. Her manager did nothing to support the situation except complain about being called in on his day off. He lacked management skills and could not check us out as requested. This is a prime example of a location with potential but is poorly managed, and a kitchen that is not run properly.
The restaurant puts more money into marketing to get people to show up and displays impressive looking dishes on a live stream, but the real thing coming from the kitchen does not reflect this what so ever. Our evening of dinner with 20 people ended with the manger getting frustrated to the point Of saying you could get out of my restaurant. His incompetency, lack of resources, poor people skills, and inability to handle an internal stressful situations he is suppose to be managing is just sad. Last hut not least 60% of the restaurant was in the same situation, complaining due to how poorly things were going on their end. In all of my adult years I have never experienced this kind of service.
*The restaurants / owners reply to my complaint could not be more twisted and wrong. Itâs comical at this point. No one walked out on bill the bottom line is that your âManagerâ did not know how to cash us out and proceeded to say âget out of my restaurantâ.
Bottom line is that your business dealing speak for themselves and there are way too many negative remarks that all align for your twisted reply to my review to be discounted.
The one person that cashed out ordered a side salad that took an hour, and left because the other 16 people didnât have food.
your manager never had any conversation with our table until I went back to the kitchen area to let him know we needed to cash out. Second your customers should never know your manager was called in on his day off, because thatâs not my problem (he has a job to do).
Donât pay your photographer to take pictures of dishes that donât look anything like what Iâm...
