I dined in today 10/26/2025 at about 2pm, and after the service I received, I will NEVER come back. We were asked if we’d like a booth, or a table, which we asked for the booth. Everything was great. We sat for about 15-20 minutes before some guy came over to us and told us we had to move so that they could seat OTHER people. Before he had come over, I saw 2 women at the front area pointing at us, asking if we’d be able to move, and they ALLOWED IT. We weren’t even told where to sit, just to move and that was that. Never got another water, the service was absolutely terrible. As a server myself, I cannot believe how unprofessional your establishment was. Because you guys failed to properly plan, us, paying customers, had to sit some place else and then were neglected afterwards. I come all the way from Torrington, and i’m saddened to see one of my favorite places treat customers so poorly. We never received an apology, or anything. I’d greatly appreciate if I could hear back from somebody. No other customers should experience the same thing we did. After this situation, I do not want to give this company any more of my hard...
Read moreRevisiting this restaurant after some time, it was a refreshingly fine experience. Expansive space, high industrial ceilings, open wood fired oven, relaxing vibe, two well made cocktails and a delicious hand tossed pizza with uncured pepperoni and Portobello mushrooms.
Patrons can choose to sit in a booth by the windows that look at the traffic outside or at a table by the oven that cooks the pizzas. We chose to sit by the fire and watch the chef throw the dough in the air until it was the right size. Chatting with him about the heat of the flames while I observed where he chose to place a pizza to bake, he described to me the different temperatures in various areas. I took a short video I'll accompany with this review.
Absolutely delicious. Again, Connecticut has the best pizza. To be fair, 95-97% due to the few places that don't season their sauce, are sparse on ingredients or have chewy dough. That said, throw a rock. No doubt. We win. American Flatbread has been in the Canton Shoppes if not from opening soon after. Very popular spot for families and events. Open 11:30AM seven days; Closes at 9PM Sun-Thurs...
Read moreAmerican Flatbread was founded in Waitsfield, VT in 1985. There are 10 locations in VT, MA, ME, and CT. This one is located in the Shops of Farmington in Canton, CT. The interior was spacious, rustic, and with high ceilings. It's definitely a casual place to get a meal. The huge wood fire oven is the centerpiece of the dining room. Ordering online and picking up was easy.
On this visit, my family and I ordered two small pizzas for takeout. One small homemade maple fennel sausage, sun-dried tomatoes, caramelized onions, mushrooms, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic oil and herb mix; this was so good, I especially loved the sun-dried tomatoes, it added a tang to it. The second small pizza, we had half maui pork and half buffalo chicken. One half came with smoked pork shoulder, mango BBQ sauce, red onions, pineapple, goat cheese, mozzarella, parmesan garlic oil, and herb mix. The other half had buffalo sauce, chicken, cheese, and red onions. I'd have to say, my family thoroughly enjoyed the pizzas. I'm a huge fan of thin crust pizzas so this was my thing. Definitely will be back...
