Our family of 5 is new to the area covid makes it a bit harder to really experience the local eateries. We visited Toasted Oat Cafe not knowing how to order or what to do....and, my goodness, did we have the best experience ever! While we were reading the gigantic menu board on the windows (so thoughtful and convenient) we ran into the owner, Seth, who was delivering to folks in their cars and had the absolute greatest chat as our food was prepared. He spent time with us and made us feel welcome in our new home. Total warm and fuzzy moment :) And, once we dined in our vehicle....it got even better! Everything was perfectly delicious. My Bronx Bomber was incredible. The chicken and waffle bowl was ahmazing. And, my kiddos loved their bites too - although I can't remember now what they had. Then the same young man comes outside to help someone else and when I told him no one is answering he said the phones are probably not working cause he didn’t hear the phone ring. He didn’t even ask me what I wanted to order or anything after telling me this. So how was I supposed to get my food if the only way to order was by phone and I couldn’t have him take my order at the door? And by the looks I was getting from the customers that were already there, black folks clearly don’t come here often. It’s a shame because I could’ve purchased every last thing on the menu, but had to leave due to the poor service. Watch who you mistreat because they could be the reason you don’t have to make your sales...

I noticed quite a few people ordered ahead and came to pick up their order.
The food and coffee were delicious. I ordered the Whole Hog Burrito which came with two eggs, bacon, ham, cheddar, pepper, grilled onion, hash brown & chipotle mayo on a white wrap ($13.10); I also ordered a side of super crispy tater tots. We had a great experience and...
