On February 19, 2024, I was assigned an order from McDonald's with a pickup time of 11:51 AM and a delivery time of 11:56 AM. However, due to delays beyond my control, the order was not delivered until 12:13 PM. Subsequently, around 12:25 PM, I contacted DoorDash to address the ongoing issues I have faced, followed by a call to McDonald's Corporate around 12:45 PM to seek assistance.
Unfortunately, my experiences have been marred by severe mistreatment, bias, discrimination, and racism, which have left me in a state of constant fear and anxiety. These issues include:
Racism and Discrimination: I have been subjected to derogatory remarks and discriminatory behavior based on my race. Comments such as "make him wait, he's not white," and "get border patrol" have been directed at me, creating an environment of hostility and exclusion. Moreover, I have endured demeaning looks and slick racist comments, which have deeply hurt and marginalized me.
Unfair Treatment and Bias: Managers at McDonald's have exhibited biased behavior towards me, mishandling my food orders and displaying aggression by aggressively throwing food orders at me. Additionally, during a job interview at McDonald's, I was asked invasive questions about my age and race, indicating a systemic issue of bias and unfair treatment within the organization.
Fear of Retaliation and Safety Concerns: The pervasive atmosphere of racism and discrimination has instilled in me a profound fear of retaliation and even physical harm. I am constantly worried about the repercussions of speaking out, including the possibility of law enforcement being called and facing unjust arrest or trespassing charges. This fear has had a debilitating effect on my mental health and overall well-being.
Lack of Support and Resolution: Despite my attempts to seek assistance from both DoorDash and McDonald's Corporate, I have been met with dismissive responses and a lack of meaningful action. Support specialists have acknowledged instances of racism and discrimination but have failed to provide adequate solutions or address the root causes of these issues. The resolution offered thus far has been insufficient, leaving me feeling helpless and vulnerable.
Witnessed Discriminatory Behavior: In addition to the mistreatment I have personally experienced, I have also witnessed McDonald's employees making derogatory comments about mixed-race workers in front of customers. These instances further highlight the pervasive culture of racism and discrimination within the organization.
I guess this is a very common thing in Canton, ILL....
ย ย ย Read moreIt's not kept very CLEAN--INCLUDING the BATHROOMS since the former owners had it!! Where you get the ice, the tray where the extra ice falls down, was dirty looking and looked like coffee or something was floating in water in it!! The counter where you get your drinks was sticky where drinks had dripped all over. I went to the restroom and my Husband didn't see me see come out and I went over to get ketchup out of the dispenser. It came out with "such Force " that it blew the cup out of my hand and SPLATTERED ketchup ALL OVER and down my clothes from my tank top to my shoes!! Plus my NEW white Canvas shoes (which were not cheap)!! It came out in a big glob that had white all through it. My husband said they both did that to him (but he's 6'1" and I'm only only 5') and he jumped back with the 2nd one. He said he told them and they came over and wiped it off. I went there 3 minutes later and it happened to me!!! Guess they didn't know what to do to fix it. Because I went up and told them and all they did was wipe it off again. We use to go there 3 or 4 times a week but not much anymore. They weren't even busy when we were there at 9:00 AM. There were only 3 tables that people were sitting at. I really wish they would bring it back up to the standard that it use to be--we need this place in Canton. A lot of us would meet there in the mornings and then again at night for a sandwhich. I'm sure the Manager is unaware of this as she CAN'T be there 24 hours a day. And it's ok when the school kids come in---you just kind if expect it . But not mid morning or the evening. Hoping something can be done to make it as...
ย ย ย Read moreCanton McDonald's is a joke. Time on my reciept says 3:03. I had a very simple order, total was $10.46. I had one sweet tea and one unsweet. You know, BECAUSE I'M A DIABETIC. They didnt bother to pay attention amd didnt label the teas right, so i started drinking a sweet tea. Thankfully i always sip everything to make sure its right first. Then, I waited over 15 minutes for my food! I had to call the resturant to find out where my food was amd as I was on the phone they brought it out. Chicken strips open and sideways im the bag, my burrito was squished and the shell was too hard to eat, and when I called and complained to the manager, she was snotty, rude and didnt take me seriously. When she answered the phone I had said I had been waiting over 10 minutes. By the time I got my food it was 15. So when I said "Its kind of bull I had to wait 15 minutes for my food. There's no reason for it" her reply was "Was it 10 or 15?" Said in a crappy mocking tone. And All she would say was "Sorry". No "Ill talk to the staff", "what can I do to make it right", nothing. So I will be calling corporate and going to the restaurant tomorrow to speak with a store manager. McDonald's has gone down hill fast and will NEVER have my...
